I see most of the bags are viewed as a worthwhile investment, are just in the area of being sold at a higher price in stores as the design ages...
Interesting and enjoyed video, but not valuable unless reselling... (if the market is right)
Does anyone know a good video/youtuber that gives opinion on the quality details of different bags ?
I will never understand this. I suppose you could compare purses to stocks and gold, but if we actually stop and think, 100% of the population thinks the two latter are valuable, where as about .05% of the population thinks a name is valuable. If the economy crashes, I'd love to see you use purses over gold to barter with!
Wow so many negative comments! I thought this video was great, very well researched, entertaining and precisely edited... I don't agree with some of the bags but you did a great job coming up with a top 15! Great video :))
Just live the life you can afford.
Don’t take loans buying this bags thinking it’s investment. It’s not. It is luxury, means for people with enough money to spend thousands of dollars on expensive things and don’t even think about it. It comes with luxury way of life. If you’re not a millionaire or at least don’t have a high revenue, buy a nice bag with the money you have and appreciate it.
LV speedy and Neverfull investments? 🤔 I personally shy away from things that are too common, these are purses that you see everywhere! Cheap, covered in logos = popular... there is nothing special about carrying the same purse that every other person does. Investment? Not at all!
I disagree that a luxury handbag being an investment! It is like buying a new car and the minute you drive it off the car lot it depreciates about 5G's!! I have several luxury handbags and sold at least 8 or 10 and with each and every one of them I got maybe half, sometimes less! I am still overloaded with luxury handbags but this time I am holding on to them for my daughter and granddaughters...
I love good design and am praying that designers will produce vegan versions of their most loved designs. 💖 👜 💕 I think it would be such a smart business move for them. 💲💲 It's less the price than being animal friendly 🐾 that appeals to me but I think they would sell so very well. I 💖 Dior's saddlebag and straps and wish it was 100 percent vegan - or that I could find a really good version that was. 💖 That would be wonderful. If something makes your heart sing it's always a good investment.
They aren't investments. They're just splurges. Better than gold? I think not. Also, If I wanted an investment I believe my money would be better spent on a house or a bank account. It's still just a bag.
Yay and kudos to Stella McCartney for not making a leather bag! If people knew what these poor animals go thru when they are literally skinned alive and are dying in agony, they probably would puc for a week. I'm vegan and when I saw this happening it was so horrifying... I had no words. I couldn't speak. I find these bags to be ugly because they are made out of horrifying pain and death of beautiful animals and that's not beautiful.
Agnieszka Deadwyler I know of 2 places online: TheRealReal and Poshmark. You can also shop in consignment stores. There are businesses that identify if a bag is authentic. There’s a purseforum online where people talk about the topic of preloved bags. It’s what I’d read for questions and answers. I’ve never purchased a luxury bag, but I’m just passing that info to you. Good luck
I do respect that you say its your opinion, and I agree with some of your choices,me personally don't like the birkin,I think its old and boring....and if I had billions of dollars I still will not buy it.I don't like the celine or the stella mccartney ,but I will add to your list the YSL bags, and the other new and old Gucci bags, they have so many, but I did like your video ,
Folks, just buy what works for you. Personally, I prefer Fossel handbags for their functionality, design, fabrics, durability and construction. As a consequence, I own several.
In my estimation, no one should purchase a handbag as an investment for the future since fashion and tastes change on a whim. Buy what suits your lifestyle, your personality and your taste, not some over-priced status symbol that'll end up in the bottom of your closet next season,
Say all you want about Birkin bags- they are WAY TOO hyped up. each purse is made by hand in 18 hours as she said. it does not make them worth $100K. In Cotacachi, Ecuador you can find all handmade, luxurious gorgeous leather, Neiman Marcus quality bags for $75-85 or they can make you any design you will show them on a photo. In that little Ecuadorian artisanal town which specializes in leather goods there are 80! leather goods shops. Go visit and buy yourself a leather purse for $85 that will last a lifetime, I have one.
I love this video and thank you so much for pronouncing things correctly!! It drives me bonkers when you tubers mispronounce the designer and bag names. I’ve just recently found your channel and can’t wait to check out more videos !
This is a great video. I personally have several of the handbags mentioned in this video and my daughter always jokes that when I'm old and grey, she will be selling them all of them and stashing away the cash. LOL!
This video is very helpful for the collection of women handbags. This is also the best idea for gifting. Avantgard Exchange also having a large variety of handbags, which are available in excellent quality. We have a variety of tote-bags styles and sizes from the best brands. Free shipping and returns. I’m sorry but as someone who’s specialized in resale of preloved designer bags anything beyond the first 3 is absolutely not an investment. You can only get back what you paid for Hermes Birkin (not all sizes and models) Kelly, and perhaps Constance in recent years. Additionally you can only really get your money bag for a Chanel double flap in the medium, not jumbo and usually for caviar more than lambskin. As much as I love Louis Vuitton, while you can certainly get a decent percentage of your money back for a speedy or neverfull you will not get a return back on what you spend. Please don’t misinform people who will genuinely go looking for these bags thinking that they will hold their value in a secondhand market.
IchLiebeTH483 besides the Birkin, she’s isn’t referring to getting your money back. She’s talking about investing in spending lots of money on a bag that will withstand fashion trends and last in your closet for years to come.
I live in Singapore, bag capital of the world. There are resellers in every mall. I see LV bags going for less than half their original price. Prices are going down too as they can't sell them. The market is swamped. I can see the same happening with Chanel too as there are just so many out there now. The bubble with eventually burst. Also fashions change. The Puzzle bag is now overtaken by the Hammock bag on the streets. I think because it is more roomy.
The only true investment bags are Hermes as they are bulletproof. The bags are made to last. There is also a limit on how many are on the market. The Gucci and Chloe bags do not wear well. I agree on the Sac Du Jour and the Peakaboo. They are both beautifully made quality bags but also practical. The only gotcha is they are both heavy.
Could you maybe do a video explaining why luxury, or even designer like Coach or Michael Kors cost so much? Like how you’d explain to a man? Lol. Like I (and my husband) get that they’re supposed to be better quality, last longer etc, but Leather is Leather and it all came from a cow?... is it really that we’re just paying for the name or is there something else that I don’t know?
