Japan’s Shinkansen doesn’t look like your typical train. With its long and pointed nose, it can reach top speeds up to 150–200 miles per hour.
It didn’t always look like this. Earlier models were rounder and louder, often suffering from the phenomenon of "tunnel boom," where deafening compressed air would rush out of a tunnel after a train rushed in. But a moment of inspiration from engineer and birdwatcher Eiji Nakatsu led the system to be redesigned based on the aerodynamics of three species of birds.
Nakatsu’s case is a fascinating example of biomimicry, the design movement pioneered by biologist and writer Janine Benyus. She's a co-founder of the Biomimicry Institute, a non-profit encouraging creators to discover how big challenges in design, engineering, and sustainability have often already been solved through 3.8 billion years of evolution on earth. We just have to go out and find them.

The world is made perfect by God! We are STILL copying HIS designs in our inventions!!! His are perfect! If you still think this is evolution and do not see His design, google what a "statistical impossibility" is !
Very interesting video and topic.
Point to Remember, nature is from its creator.
Now, Human are trying to step out of creator world who build all this nature, etc. Yet Human go back and rely on nature.
Cars communicating with each other wasn't inspired by ants. That was software engineers finding an elegant solution to a problem.
This video does not appreciate the many designs that humans have built that are amazing - from the pyramids, the cathedrals of Europe, the aqueducts of Rome, the statues of Greece, the city squares during the renaissance, the skyscrapers, so many well designed buildings, industrial products, the computer, lots of software, Saturn V, the ISS etc
There is a bush outside my front door.
Pollinating flies swarm the bush on hot days.
There is a spider that sets his web in the middle of the bush.
The spider also sets little tension sensory webs all over the bush.
I watched the spider set the whole thing up, it took him about 20 min.
Spiders are creepy but it's interest that they are the only other species besides humans that set elaborate traps to catch their prey.
I think they also hunt even when they aren't hungry.
My dad designs stuff for a living and he came home one day saying he believes in God now and he'd been thinking about it for a few weeks. This is because he has had such a hard time at work designing something for a project and him and his team were getting nowhere it was giving him stress and all. He couldn't comprehend that the world was designed so perfectly by chance. And I also believe the same now.
They slip in a pic of Mike Obama.... Can't wait for the storm to end and all traces of that scum and killary to be blotted out.... This video is such bs cuz it only glazes the surface of how GOD INTELLIGENTLY DESIGNED THE UNIVERSE and did it in 6 days..... This woman is a mental midget in that she thinks her thoughts are new and unique.... Typical leftist liberal Idiots that only wish to force their ideas on others.... Even when their ideas are stupid and wrong
So what happens when people take the wrong approach and assume that nature solves one problem but fails to take in. To affect the freedom that nature has none of its value systems are nowhere near to what god puts value on and that is the good of Humanity. And how intelligent beings are more adapted at creating a world based on the word rather then the Beast.
its a simple concept, design in nature is near perfect due to thousands of years of evolution perfectly moulding said characteristic to survive more efficiently. we just need to match up our need with how nature achieves the same.
"Sonic boom" from a train? Don't be absurd. The sonic boom phenomenon requires localized supersonic fluid stream velocities creating shock waves propagating outward, and this simply does NOT occur in the air flowing around and past a train. All sound, even when inaudible, derives from minute pressure wave gradients. This is all that happens in your high-speed-train tunnels.
Its more complicated than that and the video oversimplified in so many ways so that people who don't know anything about engineering think that engineers don't know anything about aerodynamics and more.
A sonic boom can only occur if the object is moving faster than the speed of sound. The top speed of this train is 170mph which is no match to the 767 MPH speed of sound. I know you guys tried the make this documentary sound dramatic has possible but you picked the wrong diction there. Just saying :)
P.S. I think your videos are great. Keep it up
Marin Community Foundation and Asian Americans/Pacific Islanders in Philanthropy.
Overall, US-born Muslims make up the largest percentage at 34% of all Muslims in the Bay Area, followed by 14% born in Pakistan, 11% in Afghanistan, 10% in India, 3% in Egypt and 2% each in Iran, Jordan, Palestine and Yemen.
Silicon Valley Pakistani-American by the Numbers:
There are 35,000 Pakistani-born Muslims in San Francisco Bay Area, or 14% of the 250,000 Muslims who call the Bay Area home, according to the study. Bay Area Muslim community constitutes 3.5 percent of the area’s total population and is one of the highest concentrations of Muslims in the country.
As of 2013, South Asian Muslims, including Pakistanis, have the highest income levels, with nearly half (49%) of them having a household income above $100,000. In comparison, those groups with the lowest proportion of household incomes above $100,000 were Hispanic Muslims (15%), Afghans (10%), and African American Muslims (10%).
The Bay Area Muslim community is very diverse in terms of race and ethnicity:
South Asians (30%)
African Americans (9%)
Asian/Pacific Islanders (7%)
Based on the survey findings, the majority of Muslims live in the following three counties:
and Contra Costa (12%)
Thousands of Pakistan-born techies are working at Apple, Cisco, Google, Intel, Oracle and hundreds of other high-tech companies from small start-ups to large Fortune 500 corporations. Pakistani-Americans are contributing to what Erik Brynjolfsson and Andrew McAfee describe as "The Second Machine Age" in a recent book with the same title.
