Magic Christmas Tree Time Lapse

9 ratings | 1725 views
A combination of normal speed and time lapse videos of the growth of a "magic" Christmas tree. The liquid is apparently potassium phosphate dissolved in water. This is absorbed by the paper tree, which has various coloured dyes on its limbs. The liquid mixes with the dyes and when the water evaporates, coloured crystals form on the paper. The whole crystal growing process took about 10.5 hours. Happy Holidays!
