The really weird way to get to the last level of X-Men (Genesis).
This is one of the fourth-wall references that we talked about in an episode of our Corrective Consciousness podcast! Sorry for the video quality, but rather than get a direct feed, I filmed the TV for a reason you'll understand toward the end of the video. Also, I used a cheat that lets me refill my health when I pause, and unpause, as well as a level select cheat, which is why I activate the final level, myself. Enjoy!

X-men Sega Genesis - Gambit Gameplay
Produced by Sega in 1993, based on the adventures of the Marvel Comics superhero team, the X-Men. The game takes place in the Danger Room, a training area for the X-Men inside the X-Mansion. A virus transmitted via satellite has infected the Danger Room, disabling control and safety limits. The X-Men must endure the unpredictable behavior of the Danger Room until the virus can be located and eliminated. Once the virus is eliminated, the X-Men discover that Magneto is behind the computer virus and the final stage involves a battle with him. 0:00 - Opening 1:28 - Danger Room 1:49 - Savage Land 5:19 - Shi'ar Empire 11:18 - Excalibur Lighthouse 15:59 - Ahab's World 20:48 - Mojo's Future Crunch 24:24 - Reset the Computer When you get to the end of the level, the screen will lock. Jump and hit the danger room screen (it's the big computer monitor-looking object). It will explode and disappear. Wait for a few seconds and...RESET YOU SYSTEM! Make sure it's a soft reset (just tap your reset button) because if you hold your reset button down, you really will reset. Just a quick tap (soft reset) and your screen will go black and then fill with binary code (1's and 0's) and then you'll get a "VIRUS PROGRAM SUSPENDED" screen. On emulator like Kega Fusion, go to "file" and then "soft reset" (or just press CRTL+TAB). 25:40 - Asteroid M 30:02 - Magneto GameFAQs: X-Men (GEN) FAQ/Walkthrough by J2DK: http://www.gamefaqs.com/genesis/586618-x-men/faqs/24565

X-Men - Genesis (Survol) Playthrough, No Cheats
Here's a complete playthrough of X-Men for the Genesis. This playthrough was the very first time I finished the game, after A LOT of practice. So it's far from a perfect run, but the point is not to do a perfect run, but to show that the game can be completed without cheating. You will need a lot of patience and trial and error for this one. The last 2 stages are a real pain. Not that they are extremely hard, but the game keep pushing you back to the beginning if you loose all your X-Men... No continue, no second chance.

X-Men Children of the Atom - Sega Saturn - Juggernaut vs match cheat [HD 1080p 60fps]
A quick fight showing the Juggernaut vs mode cheat code in action with two players as the unstoppable giant. This cheat was done on the Japanese NTSC version, the code to play Juggernaut was removed from the PAL version of the game. There is no cheat to play as Magneto in the Saturn version. So in order to play as Juggernaut in the Japanese version you must do the following: 1. First you must trigger the cheat to play as Gouki / Akuma in the versus mode. Also for this cheat to work you can't use the quick fighter selector either. 2. To play as Gouki / Akuma enter the following code pending which player you are: Player 1: Move the cursor over Spiral and wait 3 seconds. Then, press Left, Left, Left, Left, Right, Up, Right, Right, and Down. Wait another 3 seconds, then press and hold LK+HP+HK. Akuma will drop out of the top of the screen. Player 2: Move the cursor over Storm and wait 3 seconds. Then, press Right, Down, Left, Left, Left, Left, Down, Right, and Right. Wait another 3 seconds, then press and hold LK+HP+HK. Akuma will drop out of the top of the screen. 3. Now you must complete the match as Gouki 4. Once the match ends and you return to the character select screen, you will still have Akuma selected, he has no avatar pictures and your cursor will not appear on top of any of the normal characters. From there press up+left twice, the first tap will display Wolverine's face and the second tap will display Juggernaut. Note if done correct your cursor still won't appear over any of the fighter when Juggernaut is highlighted. Select Juggernaut to play as him, note this cheat can be a bit tricky to pull off and if you don't hit up-left perfectly. Your cursor will reappear on the character select screen at which point you will have to perform the Gouki code over again. Some bugs and graphics corruption do show up when you play as him, such as the dash effect when he performs his head crush super. The cheat can be a bit hit and miss at times to work so be prepared to have to perform it a few times before you get it to work. The cheat code for the North American version is said to be slightly different but, Randomised Gaming doesn't have a copy to test the code on that version. X-men 2 Clone wars playthrough complete with cheats
First time playing through Xmen 2 clone wars on Genesis running through scart RGB to my Framemeister RGB mini upscaler in 1080p output. Game was stupid hard so I turned on the game genie and invincibility and even with that there were platforming parts that were just stupid hard lol. I don't care to cheat I know some purist do but I just play for the story and for fun, which is also why I only did Wolverine as he's my all-time favorite Marvel hero. Enjoyed the game though despite the difficulty and looks gorgeous through the framemeister.

I decided to run through this game without switching or using any assist characters on the superhero difficulty. It was pretty hard! My goal is to do this with each character so look for those to come in the future. This game is really fun, I played on an actual Sega Genesis with the original controller on a CRT tv for full effect.

5. (60 FPS Genesis) Mojo's Crunch - X-Men
Playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL7IEN-HGlR45k6u7A2424ZUZ1UAssYkRd The crazy thing happens in this level! At the end! I actually have to RESET the Genesis system to continue! Hey, there! This is a series that'll be featuring the Sega Genesis at 60 frames per second captured on the original system! Why? Well... have you ever watched an older game on YouTube and noticed the main character turn invisible when hit, or some other such nonsense? That's because some older games use some ridiculously high speed flicker effects to achieve those crazy hitflashes on bosses or that "ouch I'm hurt!" flicker! These are not displayed properly at 30 fps, but now that we're able to upload at 60 fps we can see all the special effects that older games would use! (They'll be smoother, too!) ---- Huh, whaddya know, another place/enemy I don't really know. I think this dude has some weird power over telecommunications or something? Anyway, it looks like another dystopian future kinda dealie. OH. AND HERE'S WHERE THE CRAZY HAPPENS! Remember Professor X. from earlier? He said it'd be up to us to "reset the computer"? Well... he meant that we'd literally have to reset our system. The Sega Genesis/Mega Drive. Seriously. So that's what I do! It's just before you see all the green code texts. How any kid playing this back in the day would figure to do that, I don't know! It doesn't even tell you to do this in the game manual! Totally devious! Resetting is the LAST thing you'd want to do when playing a video game! You lose all your progress! It works in this case because the developers are crazy and made it work. It also revives all your lost X-Men, so that's nice. It also boots a super special single-page comic that you can view nowhere else, whooooa~! And now we must go and sometimes crush our enemy where he lives! ----- Read the game overview in the title video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WTdeoS0kjp8 ---- Some additional notes for those technically inclined: *NOTE* - This game is NOT 60 FPS for the most part. I captured it as such, anyway, to preserve what few instances it may have This was captured from an original Sega Genesis system via composite output along with stereo sound to get as authentic a recording as possible. The Genesis used is one of the "good" models with proper sound and video output. Genesis can also output an RGB signal which is clearer, but I vetoed the idea because it breaks the dithering effect (color blending and transparencies) as seen here: http://retro-sanctuary.com/comparisons%20-%20differing.html Also, the vast majority of people could not use the RGB signal even if they wanted to, so the experience they remember would be the composite signal as shown in this video. There are a couple things to note about the quality of the video, however. Sega Genesis has a very dirty video signal that often "breaks" attempts to capture it with a capture device. The capture device I use is considered one of the most capable when it comes to older systems, but the Genesis' video signal still introduces some inconsistencies. These usually manifest where there are extremely thin lines in game, mostly the text, and in some other places as well. As a whole, it is more than manageable, but it is worth noting. Also, the original Sega Genesis resolution is, in essence, 240p at 60 frames per second. To take advantage of YouTube's higher bitrate offerings and to enable 60 fps I need to upscale that resolution to 1080p. There is also a step of video deinterlacing before that to create crisp video. That is a significant amount of video processing to the image, so I want to note that here as well.

It didn't take any effort, I spent 37 minutes (and a few more hours converting/uploading) doing it, I didn't care and still don't care much for it, but for some reason it got a lot of views. ******** If you want to see a very good one-coin playthrough of this game, check out this (not mine) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HVHqusfB71c

X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse (SNES) Playthrough - NintendoComplete
A playthrough of Capcom's 1994 license-based platformer/beat 'em up for the Super Nintendo, X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse. X-men: Mutant Apocalypse is among my favorite X-men games ever, right alongside Children of the Atom, which coincidentally enough was also released by Capcom in 1994 but in arcades. This SNES gem really exemplifies how on-top of their game Capcom was when it came to developing for the SNES. The graphics look awesome, with huge, well animated sprites and detailed backgrounds that all look right in line with their source material. The soundtrack rocks, and is easily the among the best Mega Man X soundtracks on the SNES after the first.... okay, so it's not a MMX soundtrack, but it sounds like it could have/should have been with its rock beats and heavily abused guitar samples. The gameplay is truly what makes the game shine, though. The combat hybridizes standard 2D platforming with fighting controls from Street Fighter II, and it works beautifully. The moves are all well balanced, easy to pull off, and make things more interesting than merely smashing the Y-button until your thumb falls off. I also love that MMX's stage select has been adapted here - the choice of stage order is pretty nice since it allows you to play many times over without getting completely fed up playing the first few levels again and again. That having been said, it's not likely that you'd have to - its actually pretty easy for a non-Disney Capcom action game. It's not a total cakewalk, but it was made pretty accessible to all players, not just experts. If you haven't taken on this X-Men title, do yourself a favor and try it out. In my mind, it's by far the best 16-bit X-Men title, even besting the (quite good) Genesis titles by a fair margin. And to anyone that wants to draw the comparison: no, it's nothing like MK Mythologies. The mere suggestion is an insult to this game. ____ No cheats were used during the recording of this video. Spider-Man and the X-Men: Arcade's Revenge Video Walkthrough
This is a video walkthrough / playthrough / runthrough / etc of Spider-Man and the X-Men: Arcade's Revenge for the SNES. Considering how many times I've played through this game, I'm still amazed I haven't figured out the usefulness of that one attack Storm can do...I know I don't complete her stages with flying colors, but at least I didn't lose a life...I guess I could have tried a bit harder, but oh well. X-Men 2: Clone Wars (Sega Genesis): Full Run - No Deaths (Wolverine) by nahucirujano
After a long time, we have a new gameplay video. This time, a full run with no deaths at one of my favourite childhood Sega Genesis adventure videogames, "X-Men 2: Clone Wars", and using only Wolverine. I used to play this game when I was little, and once I beat it using only Wolverine. Now, after many years I played it again and lost at the final stage. Then I thought I could try to beat the game using only that character but without losing any lives. After a third try I did it. Stages List: 1° Siberia - 00:00 2° Sentinel Complex First Floor - 01:49 Second Floor - 04:04 Sentinel Core - 06:09 3° Avalon Asteroid's Surface - 09:00 Inside Avalon - 10:05 The Shaft - 13:20 The Chamber - 14:50 Magneto's Quarters - 15:34 4° Apocalypse's Fortress The Climb - 16:25 Inside The Fortress - 19:06 The Computer Room - 22:53 5° The Savage Land Jungle 1 - 27:08 1-minute break to go to the toilet xD - 32:53 Jungle 2 - 33:56 Tower Floor 1 - 35:58 Tower Floor 2 - 38:05 Master Brain's Quarters - 40:13 6° Phalanx Ship First Level - 41:11 Elevator - 47:14 The Lab - 50:26 The Maze - 58:12 The phone rang and I answered, so, sorry again xD just 30 sec - 01:04:22 The Clone Factory - 01:09:58 Credits - 01:24:57 By the way, the music of this game is awesome (except The Lab and The Maze theme). It's surprising how compositors could come up with such amazing songs for the Megadrive sound chip. Same case with Comix Zone and Vectorman, just incredible music.

X-Men 2: Clone Wars. Co-op no-death walkthrough
X-Men 2: Clone Wars co-op no death walkthrough (Sega Mega Drive/Genesis) That wasn't easy, but that was so fun to beat this game in 2 players mode. Comparing to solo run, this becomes much harder. First of all you need to work synchronously as a team when performing jumps or trying to move somewhere. It's all about camera. You MUST stay together if you what to see what's happening or you just die. Visibility is about 1.5 times lower comparing to 1 player mode. The second thing is climbing levels. If one of you can't perform jump successfully, both fall down and you have to try it again. There are some levels when it's close to death, for example, level with rising acid water - what a load of cruelty :D So try it one by one, if you don't want to fall down. Finally, all healing divides into two, so it's needed to be more careful and play safer. However, there is a couple of things you can do that you can't do in single mode. If one player falls down, while the second one stay on a platform, you don't fall at all and both are on the platform. This is so fair and usefull on climbing levels. Plus, there is an opportunity to have more skills at the same time as two characters are in the game. I haven't seen fair co-op run of this game on youtube, so here it is. Hope you'll enjoy. First player is my friend, and the second is me.
