Why? Have you read the list of ingredients on these cans? They include synthetic ingredients that are absorbed into your skin. Commonly used petrochemical by-products like mineral oil, paraffin and petrolatum clog the skin’s pores and prevent the skin’s natural respiration process. Aerosol cans use a propellant system powered by pressurized propane - which is highly flammable and harmful if inhaled Sodium lauryl sulfate is added to shaving creams to help generate foam. An ingredient that strips the skin off natural oils and causes dry skin. These ingredients are cheap substitutes to natural oils. If you are looking to improve your lathers, or just need some direction on how to use a brush and shaving soap, this tutorial will cover two easy options for building a great lather. I demonstrate two different methods to building a great shaving lather. The first method uses a dry (damp) brush, the second method use a wet brush. This tutorial also shows you how to face lather like a pro! The soap in the demonstration is the RazoRock "King of the Castle" Lime, a soft Italian soap. How To Lather Shaving Soap Like A Pro! Tips For Shaving A Bald Head | No Cuts or Bumps 🙅🏽‍♂️

13:43
Buy It Here: https://amzn.to/2uxUcX4 👌 The shaving soap I used is from: www.MensSoap.com In the video, I show you how you can have a really good head shaving experience by following my shaving tips and techniques. There are so many kinds of soaps and creams out there that it can be confusing for anyone looking to start shaving their head for the first time. If you've been following me, you know I always try out new products to see how they do, so you know what works and what doesn't. Everyone has different taste so I try out different products to give you options. You can have all the right tools, but if you don't use a good shaving soap, you'll know right away because the razor will pull and cut your skin instead of gliding over it. The lather from the soap should be creamy and thick, not bubbly and runny. A good lather will protect your head during and after shaving. I picked up the soaps from this company because it has a lot of good reviews, and it has shea butter and coconut oil, which is always great for the skin. I don't have sensitive skin, but if you do, expect no irritation. My head shave was surprisingly good, great lather and glide. Looks like this shaving soap will last me a while too. "Italian Gentleman" - "Art of Shaving" - "Rasatura" - "Barbieria Colla" - "Italian Men's Grooming"

02:46
"Antica Barbieria Colla is the most famous barber shop in Milan, known for prestige, for its traditions and widely recommended by its Italian and International clientele. Founded by Dino Colla in 1904, the Barbershop is the place to seek hair, beard and mustaches treatment as well as to meet famous people. When entering the store one has the impression of travelling through time into a world where attention to the customer and detailed care are sacred and inviolable values. Shaving at the Barbershop is a ritual of great charm: a warm cloth, pre-shave cream, animal hair brush, razor blade that caresses the skin without irritating it, another cream, other cloths, and enormous attention during all phases of the process, a truly attentive service. Under the leadership of its current owner Franco Bompieri, who has been working in the same historical shop since 1960, the “Antica Barbieria Colla” has consolidated its prestige. As well as providing impeccable hair-cuts and shaves, the owner is also a well-known writer, author of several books. The products used in the shop are created especially for the skin treatments. They are prepared following an ancient tradition passed on from owner to owner. Up to a short time ago such products were used in the Barbershop primarily. The strong demand by customers and friends motivated Francesca Bompieri, Franco’s daughter, to make her marketing experience available to the family business with the creation of an exclusive line of products for hair and face called “Antica Barbieria Colla”.

How to Lather a Shaving Soap in a Bowl or Mug - Hard Puck Lathering Tutorial

03:53
If you are just starting out into the wet shaving world, how to lather may seem obvious, but you won't get great bubble-free, creamy lather unless you give it the love it needs. With good lathering techniques, and with some practice, you'll be lathering like a pro in no time. This lathering tutorial is for a hard shaving soap puck. However, the lathering process would be similar for other soaps as well, you'd just skip steps that are not applicable. Be sure to shower before shaving, as your skin and hair needs to be well hydrated for an irritation free shave. And this helps a lather do a much better job in protecting your skin. A good brush is just as important as a good shaving soap. They work together to build a proper lather. We recommend using pure badger shaving brushes because they hold water more effectively, which helps lather quicker and richer. Boar hair brushes are good as well. Lastly, make sure you're comfortable holding the lathering bowl or mug. Building lather for 30 seconds may tire your hands if the bowl or mug is too heavy or awkward to handle in one hand, especially for a non-dominant hand. Honestly, you don't need to buy a fancy bowl or mug, just look around what you already have in the house. If you found this lathering tutorial helpful, please give it thumbs up and subscribe to our channel for future videos. Happy lathering! The soap we used in the lathering tutorial is Sandalwood Shaving Soap 4.0 oz Refill Puck https://www.menssoapco.com/collections/soap-and-shave-products/products/sandalwood-shaving-soap-4-0-oz-refill-puck Men's Soap Company http://www.menssoap.com Music: Dreams by Joakim Karud YouTube Audio Library http://goo.gl/YmnOAx

How to Melt Shaving Soap Refill Puck into a Bowl or Mug Using Stovetop and Boiling Water

01:53
Melting any glycerin based soap is easy. You can melt a shaving soap to fit in any bowl or mug you like with these simple steps in the video. Yes, you could melt soap in a microwave faster, but we recommend melting over stovetop and boiling water. Even though this method has more steps, your soap won't be ruined because of unforeseen consequences of leaving it in microwave for too long. Over the stovetop, you can keep an eye on the soap and know exactly when to turn off the burner. Heating anything in the microwave feels like a guessing game, why take the risk? Also, since microwave heats with radiation, who knows what properties of soaps become affected by it. Just go with this method to melt your soap, you won't regret it. If you found this video helpful, please give it thumbs up and subscribe to our channel for future videos. The shaving soap we melted in the video is Everest Shaving Soap 3.8oz Refill Puck in Lavender Scent https://www.menssoapco.com/collections/soap-and-shave-products/products/everest-shaving-soap-3-8oz-refill-puck-lavender Men's Soap Company http://www.menssoap.com Music: Summer Smile by Silent Partner YouTube Audio Library http://goo.gl/YmnOAx

Setting Up the SHAVING SOAP - OLD SCHOOL SHAVING TUTORIAL NO 01

01:06
Products - Use coupon code SHOP10 http://www.mroomshop.com/ Europe's largest barbershop for men! http://www.mroom.com/ "SHAVING" Traditional or classic shaving, also known as wet shaving is a topic, which people with orientation are often very enthusiastic about. They preach about shaving with such devotion, that the listener starts to doubt it must be too good to be true. However, the mandatory beard removing ritual can be so pleasant and enjoyable, that in many cases it becomes a serious hobby. Worst thing to happen in traditional shaving is not that you hurt yourself, but not even to try! The fear for the blade is unnecessary, because the small cuts that might occur in the beginning are easy to take care with an alum block. And that Tarzan-like feeling you get, once you get started, makes you forget all the horrendous scenarios that you had beforehand. Razor - Shaving result with these traditional two sided blades is better than with the multi blade shredders from markets. It’s common to start with more safe and secure closed comb razors, where the blade is a little bit more hidden. But after the shaving skills being improved, it is easy to move to instruments with more precised shaving result. Majority of wet shavers use razors only and why not, because razors with one blade are just great. Straight razor - fancy and dangerous looking gadgets but in skilled hands they get the shaver in such nirvana, that one wouldn’t like to stop, but the facial hair just runs out. They require sharpening and good maintenance, but last from generation to generation. Shavette - Replaceable blade straight razor usually used by barbers. These will get you close to the real cut-throat shave experience. Doesn’t require maintenance like straight razor as the blade can be replaced once it gets blunt. Pre-shave lotion or oil - Apply on the area to be shaved before the actual shaving cream to get the skin moisturized and pliable. Super sharp blade glides smoothly on prepared and elastic skin and won’t get stuck on uneven spots like on a dry skin, which is very often the case with current shaving methods. This is not mandatory, but adds the pleasure of shaving and especially when using different kinds of razors. Shaving brush – commonly used to prepare and apply shaving cream. Brush distributes the cream evenly on the skin and around the beard and lifts facial hair up. Shaving brushes are usually made out of natural hair from badger, wild boar, horse or a mix of these. But also synthetic brushes are available. Shaving soap – Shaving cream is being prepared out of shaving soap, which come either in hard or creme form, but there is also a croap, that is something in the between. However the end result is the same with all of these: enjoyable, pleasant smelling and skin protecting shaving cream that helps to get the beard shaved. Alum block – Old time after shave, that protects and disinfects the skin and seals the small wounds and scratches. Is being used before electric shavers or after a razor. Can also be used as a deo stick. Aftershave – Shaving is being finished with an after shave product, that restores the natural moisture of skin and gives it a pleasant feeling. Aftershave lotions might irritate the skin in the beginning, so an aftershave balm might be a more comfortable option.

Dr. Bronner's Peppermint Shaving Soap

12:48
Company: Dr. Bronner Product: Dr Bronner Peppermint Organic Shaving Soap Founder: Dr Bronner Location: Vista, CA website - https://www.drbronner.com If you ever had the pleasure of using Dr. Bronner’s pure castile liquid soap, then you know the experience to be amazing. Especially when you use the peppermint it’s what I use all summer. Dr. Bronner has been around since 1858 and making soap in the USA since 1948. They pride themselves on being organic and I mean truly organic. But as I found out being a great soap making doesn’t always translate into being a great shaving soap maker and this is true with Dr. Bronner Organic Shaving Soap. I purchased the 16-ounce tube and when opened I was real surprised at how runny it was. This dark brown liquid runs out so fast that you have to tilt it ever so slightly into the palm of your hand in order to control the flow. I wanted to try two methods of lathering first with the bowl then face lather. During the bowl lather everything was going well I used my Razorock synth brush which made a great lather and as soon as I applied it to my face the disappearing act started. I created a time laps of 1:22 seconds to show the difference. I next cleaned up and started again following the instructions on the tube and did a face lather working it onto my already wet face. This yielded better results at first. I had a great looking lather going on. As I bent down to washed my hands which only took 20 seconds I glanced at the mirror and the same thing happened again no lather it had all disappeared. I made up my mind to shave with it anyway and proceeded to use my German 37 Slant. When I was done I did get a close shave but had to go over the same areas many times to achieve it. Furthermore, I didn’t like the tacky feeling the soap left my skin. I could place my hands on my face and see in the mirror how my skin was sticking to them as I pulled them away. Since I cut myself during the shave I didn’t really trust it to do under my lip in fear I would cut myself again. I was going to use a different product to complete the job. Sadly, I didn’t have a good shave and can’t recommending this shaving soap. I think the good Dr. should take a look at how a real shaving soap lathers and feels then go back and make the changes to the formula otherwise you can just call this a soap. Case in point take a look at the “Suggested Uses” and let me know after watching my YouTube video did you happen to see a good lather. “Our Organic Shaving Soaps are great for both men and women. Squirt a little bit of Shaving Soap onto your hands (about the size of a nickel) and rub them together for a good lather.!” For Your Information: Company: Dr. Bronner Product: Dr Bronner Peppermint Organic Shaving Soap 7oz $8.99 Website - https://www.drbronner.com Music - Seeburg 1000 Please check my other social media outlets: Google+ - http://bit.do/bL6zz Twitter - https://twitter.com/WetTheFace FaceBook - http://bit.do/bL6zC Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/wettheface/ Pinterest- https://www.pinterest.com/WetTheFace/ Stumble - http://www.stumbleupon.com/stumbler/W... Puck Lathering VS Bowl Lathering - Wet Shaving

05:02
Showing the differences between a puck lather and a bowl lather with Van Der Hagen shave soap. I added extra water to the bowl lather just to show how much volume you can get if you like a really wet lather. I like to puck lather personaly. The cream is much heavier and longer lasting, but with less cushion and more slickness. This method also uses more soap. The other option is the bowl lather where you load the brush with soap and add water to the bowl as you lather to get the desired volume at the cost of slickness. Try it for yourself. It's easy! Review - Skinplicity Bath & Body / Shaving Soap

09:30
Company: Skinplicity Bath & Body Product: Shaving Soap / Peppermint Founder: Diana Keefe Location: Canby, OR http://skinplicity.beeswax.website/ In Oct of 2015, I came across an ETSY company called Skinplicity. Later I found out they also have a .com website under this name http://www.skinplicitynw.com. The product line is pretty extensive; there’s soap for just about every part of your body including Men’s Shaving Soap. Diana calls it a Glycerin soap but that ingredient ranks about 3rd on the list. This soap is made in small batches and has no animal fats or by-products. I had a small conversation with her and she was very secure in the fact that I would enjoy her product so I purchased one. This soap comes in 7 scents: SENSUOUS SANDALWOOD, BLUE VELVET, TOBACCO & BLACK TEA, BARBER SHOP, BAY RUM, FRESH LIME and PEPPERMINT which is what this review will be based on. I have a confession to make here, with so many things going on in my life I’d forgotten about this package until now. 6 months later – My Bad. The puck comes in plastic shrink wrap with a paper label on top. It’s molded to fit into shaving mugs. The strange thing about this product has to do with how many ounces it is. The product label states that the puck is 3oz but on the websites the picture has 4oz and in both locations the description refers to it as 3.5oz, so your guess is as good as mine. After I placed this into the lathering bowl it hit me, why is this soap brown? I could see if I purchased Sandalwood but for a peppermint scent making it pure white would be more appropriate. I used my Zen Shave brush for this lather with medium backbone which was perfect for the job. I added water to the brush and rung it out in the bowl and started to lather. The scent was increasing and at this point brown suds started to appear which thankfully turned to white. I think I added a little too much water because the process took longer than normal but soon I created a rich creamy lather that was amazing. The lather provided wonderful coverage including great slickness and glide for my R89 Grand razor. The post shave feel was impressive as well. So I had a great shave and give the soap high marks. I know some Wet Shavers seem to frown upon Glycerin based soaps. Over the course of a year doing shaving videos and writing articles I’ve come across some great shaving soaps of all kinds including glycerin, I’ll just say this in closing, you don’t have to hide the fact that you like a particular glycerin soap. Don’t let ANYONE tell you what to like or dislike that is totally up to you. Enjoy your Hobby. Palmolive Shaving Cream

08:19
Company: Colgate-Palmolive Product: Palmolive Shaving Cream Location: New York City, NY Website - http://www.colgate.co.uk/app/PalmoliveEU/Equity/UK/EN/categories/mens-care.cwsp I’ve see it all the time a new shaving soap or cream comes on the market with the price around $100.00. All the wet shaving YouTubers can’t wait to be the first one on the block to make a video about it. What really excites me is finding something that coast $3.00 that acts and preforms like it’s $100.00. Well I found one although it’s not from the US this is a UK product called Palmolive Shaving Cream. This was possible due to my friend from the UK Leslie Asare subscribes to my channel and thought I would enjoy a few soaps and creams from the UK. This happened once before with my friend Melvin Hollenberg he gave me the shaving soap called De Vergulde Hand from the Netherlands another amazing shaving soap that’s considered a staple and costs very little. Palmolive shave cream comes in a squeezable tin like tube with a screw on top. If you have read some of my other articles you know that tubes like this are not my favorite but some people have pointed out some accessories you can purchase to make this more enjoyable for someone like me who hates the sight of bent and deformed tubes on the counter. For me the scent of this cream is amazing they called it “Classic Care” some say a wintergreen with a hint of lemon yes, I get that but it not a true wintergreen and I do smell the lemon on the end note. I think it’s more on the Irish spring side and the reason I say this is the company makes that product as well. The list of ingredients: Aqua, Stearic Acid, Glycerin, Potassium Hydroxide, Coconut Acid, Cocos Nucifera Oil, Sodium Hydroxide, Parfum, Potassium Chloride, Sodium Silicate, Cocos Nucifera Extract, Hydroxyisohexyl 3-Cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde, Limonene, Cl 15985, Cl 42051, Cl 45350, Cl 47005. I bowl lather and Palmolive didn’t let me down. I placed a small amount into the bowl wet my brush and emptied the contents into it. In only 54 seconds I had created a lather that was able to penetrate and get right into my 5-day old bread. A rich thick creamy lather which the scent seemed to have increased as well. What a surprise to find out how superior the sickness and glide is for this cream in a word outstanding. Another surprise was the menthol content. This cream has more than I expected. In fact, more than any other shave cream I’ve ever tried and because of this it moves to one that I’ll reach for many times. Lastly my post shave feel was fantastic. So, A great shave was had and it you can find it in the US give it a try but I’ll probably pay more in the states. DIY Natural Shaving Cream Recipe!

02:56
DIY Natural Shaving Cream Recipe! Ingredients: • 1/3 cup coconut oil • 1/3 cup shea butter • 2 tablespoons of grapeseed oil ( or olive oil, sweet almond oil, etc) • 2 tablespoons of Castille Soap INSTRUCTIONS Step 1: In a small saucepan, melt shea butter and coconut oil over the lowest heat setting on the stove. Stir occasionally until fully melted. Step 2: Add in oil and stir until fully blended. Remove from heat. Step 3: Transfer mixture to a medium-sized bowl and place in the fridge until it’s solid. Step 4: Remove from fridge and whip using a hand mixer or stand mixer. Scrape sides down as needed. Whip until fluffy ~ about 3-4 minutes depending on how cold your mixture is – then add castile soap and whip until fully combined. Step 5: Spoon shaving cream into an airtight container and store in a cool, dry place. NOTES The ingredients in this recipe are shelf stable for quite a long time on their own without a preservative. However, if water gets into the jar they will spoil much more quickly. I pat my hands dry with a towel hanging right outside the shower before scooping the shaving cream out. This formula can make the tub/shower floor slippery. It usually doesn’t if you’re just using what you need to shave with – about a quarter-sized amount for each leg – but it can. Take extra care and/or consider using a non-slip surface like a bath mat. Rinse the blades as needed while shaving and wipe with a washcloth if needed. Note: This homemade shaving cream does not lather and should be applied as a thin layer. The texture is a cross between shaving oil and shaving soap. I think they definitely have some fantastic scents in their lineup. In this particular review I will be focusing on their Bay rum shaving soap. They also have some other fantastic scents such as lime and Eucalyptus mint in their soap collection. For the most part these three soaps lather and perform in the same way.
