Sensational solo first ascent of the climb Superstitious?, Ogmore sea cliffs, by Martin Crocker
The first ascent of the climb, Superstitious? on the Ogmore sea cliffs, South Wales by South-West and Wales activist, Martin Crocker (solo) in 2003. The ascent was reported on TV by ITV West who claimed that Crocker was trying to increase the danger of climbing, rather than reduce it. There may be some truth to that claim, since the sea was not at its calmest that day (Friday the 13th).

Coasteering Adventures from Edinburgh | Scotland | Intrepidus Outdoors - We Adventure Vertically!
Coasteering takes exploring the Scottish coastline to the extreme. Cliff jumps, waves and navigating sea caves! What is Coasteering? To suggest coasteering is the process of traversing a section of coastline, doesn’t really do this adventure justice. We start at one golden sandy beach and make our way around the headland and across some real rugged rocky terrain. We will jump from sea cliffs, swim across choppy channels, climb through caves, scramble up rock faces and if we are lucky, pause to watch a pod of dolphins swim past. Coasteering is an amazing way to experience what Scotland has to offer from a completely new perspective. Interested? Check out: www.intrepidusoutdoors.co.uk/coasteering/ Intrepidus Outdoors is an adventure tourism and outdoor education provider based in Edinburgh. Pocket Pulling And Pinnacle Hopping On The French Riviera | Epic Aerials by the Green Twins, Ep. 3
http://www.epictv.com BUY EPIC GEAR, TESTED BY THE BEST: GoPro, Sony, DJI, ION, Magicam, Optrix, Hitcase and more http://shop.epictv.com This week in Epic Aerials, the Green twins meet up with Etienne Seppecher and Aymeric Freze in the Calanques, a famous section of beautiful, limestone sea cliffs in the French Mediterranean. This area was developed in the 1930's by climbers like George Livanos, Robert Gabriel, and Charles Magol. In order to get there Etienne and Aymeric sailed up the French Riviera and set their sites on climbing La Momie Directe, 6b+, a dramatic route up a needle spire including a hair-raising step-up traverse back onto the main cliff. This amazing route should be on every climbers' bucket list! Although the difficulty of the route isn't especially high, there were some tricky points, according to Etienne. "The fact that the cliffs have numerous routes that require different equipment makes it really important to choose the right start and finish to avoid facing unexpected gear changes and difficulties along the way," he says. "Also, climbing in the sun by the sea makes the rocks moist and salty resulting in rather bad friction." The cliffs might have been a dream to climb and shoot but getting to them for the Green twins was another story. "The takeoff was too small and had huge boulders with overhead power lines at the end," Tim Green said. "If the engine tanked during takeoff or if we couldn’t pull up fast enough, we would’ve been burnt toast." Shooting with a Canon 7D and a 16-35mm lens, the twins had to lug their camera gear, along with a a dry bag, auto-inflating life jackets, paramotor, and tandem wing to the beach, then launch from the cliffs. After they were airborne, the toughest part was getting the timing of their passes right so they could capture the best action. Well, it was also hard dealing with the angry property manager of the beach they landed on, but that's a different story. REEL ROCK Film Tour Powered by Goal Zero
The REEL ROCK Film Tour has been showcasing the exploits of the best climbers and explorers in the world for the last decade. Last year’s travel itinerary alone included Japan, Borneo, Morocco, the Swiss Alps, the Utah Desert, English Sea Cliffs and even Mount Everest. Their films document and share the seclusionist sport of climbing with the public and inspires the next generation of explorers. One of the challenges they face is keeping their equipment powered while out on location. Sometimes their expeditions last for months and while on these full scale productions, they don’t travel light. With multiple cameras, computers, headlamps, hard drives, walkie talkies and phones to power, they rely on solar to stay charged. Tis film was made for a series called "The Adventurers" on BBC1 in 1988. The most remarkable thing about it was the way it came about. A fourteen year old schoolgirl rang me and asked if I wanted to film an expedition to climb the highest sea cliff in the British Isles. She reeled off an impressive list of well known climbers that were going. Not only that, the BBC were interested following the interest as a result of successful programme showing Joe Brown's daughter climbing the Old Man of Hoy. There was one problem. It would emerge that she was a novice climber.

coasteering web optimized
This really has got to be the ultimate coasteering adventure that you are ever likely to experience! After getting kitted out at the centre you will get a thorough safety briefing from us with regards to the day's activities prior to departing to the drop off point at the Breakwater Country Park. From the county park it is then a 15 -- 20 min walk to the start point. adventure-2This is where the day really begins after a member of our staff has checked you over the session starts with a free hanging abseil over the biggest sea cave in Wales, where you will either land on the beach below or if the tide is in you could be in for a wet entry 150ft below followed by a short swim to shore. Once all of the group are safely down it's time to Rendezvous with Diggs and time for our first coasteering session of the day, this session takes in some of the finest and most inaccessible stretches of coastline to be found anywhere in Wales, with towering sea cliffs, sea caves and sea stacks some of the obstacles that will need to be negotiated en-route, as well as passing by Fly Trap, Spiders Web, Dream of White Horses, and T Rex, some of the best sea cliff climbs to be found in the British Isles. Having finished this first section of the Adventure Coasteering course it's time to Rendezvous with Diggs and swim out to the waiting Rib to be whisked around to a secluded beach for some deserved refreshments and a spot of lunch. After lunch it's time to swim back out to the Rib for a guided tour of the coastline en-route to our next location for another spot of Coasteering ,where you will get to practice everything taught during the mornings activity. However as expected, we have turned things up a notch with harder traverses and bigger jumps lying in wait before a final Rib ride back to the beach. After a final swim to shore it's a short walk back to the centre and time for a hot shower and drinks. We have over time continued to develop our own unique courses, this year is no different. This year will see us forming a working partnership with local rib charter "Diggs" owner of SBS Charters. Like ourselves Diggs has lived and worked in the area for most of his life and has been involved with the sea for virtually all his life. Training as a commercial diver in 1974 then going on to spend the next 10 years as a fisherman whilst gaining more qualifications in survival at sea and fire fighting at sea. If this isn't enough he is an RYA Advanced Powerboat Instructor and a member of the local lifeboat crew, including two years as Senior Helmsman. His knowledge of the waters around Anglesey is encyclopaedic! Our Adventure Coasteering Sessions are generally run on demand, we do however have certain dates in the diary that we fill with small groups and individuals, if you would like more information about our Adventure Coasteering then either use our on-line booking form or call us on 01407 761777 or alternatively 07906 006360.

Backpacking Kalalau Trail Kauai, Hawaii | Na Pali Coast
I have reviewed the hike and provide a great description of what to expect/bring on my blog: https://scottrasak.tumblr.com/post/33398874306/napali-coast-kauai-hike The Kalalau Trail is an 11 mile trail that leads from Ke'e Beach to Kalalau Beach on the island of Kauai in Hawaii. The Na Pali Coast is a very special place. The pali, or cliffs, provide a rugged grandeur of deep, narrow valleys ending abruptly at the sea. Waterfalls and swift flowing streams continue to cut these narrow valleys while the sea carves cliffs at their mouths. Extensive stone walled terraces can still be found on the valley bottoms where Hawaiians once lived and cultivated taro. The Kalalau Trail provides the only land access to this part of the rugged coast. The trail traverses 5 valleys before ending at Kalalau Beach where it is blocked by sheer, fluted pali. The 11-mile trail is graded but almost never level as it crosses above towering sea cliffs and through lush valleys. The trail drops to sea level at the beaches of Hanakapi'ai and Kalalau. Originally built in the late 1800s, portions of the trail were rebuilt in the 1930s. A similar foot trail linked earlier Hawaiian settlements along the coastline. For most backpackers in good condition hiking the 11 miles will take a full day. Get an early start to avoid overexertion in the midday heat.

Rock climbing Ireland, Cruit Island
Cruit Island sits at the western tip of The Rosses area of western Donegal. It is one of the most developed rock climbing venues in Ireland containing a tad over 300 recorded routes from Diff to E2. The climbing on Cruit is on the many granite sea cliffs located around the island. The immaculate rock is characterised by it's mixture of coarse granite crystals and it's immaculate smoothness where the sea has scoured it over the centuries. In the main the cliffs are 10m high with the largest cliffs at 20m high being found in "The Albatros Zawn" area. Climbing is possible at all tide states and in all sea conditions as the multitude of cliffs on the island have many orientations allowing climbing on lee cliffs whilst other are being battered by the monsterous seas that frequently roll onto the island. http://www.uniqueascent.ie/cruit_island_guide

Pirates Cove Part 2 "Traversing The Cliffs"
Over the years many people have died falling off the cliffs surrounding this cove and region. In this clip I am going to take you right to the edge of one of the cliffs so the video is going to be rocky as I traverse down this ridge leading right up to the edge overlooking the Pacific Ocean. At one time many tales of pirates and the Portuguese are often told about this area. Just as in its rough waters their have been quite a few ships that sank. Hiking in this area has many beautiful awards including views such as these.

Mt. Kitanglad - Mt. Dulang-dulang Traverse | Dubbed as K2D
Mt. Kitanglad - Mt. Dulang-dulang climb was one of my dream climbs. I never imagined that this strenuous traverse came to be realized. Since I enter the mountaineering sports in 2005, this beautiful mountains already fascinated me. I consider K2D as one of the best climbs in the Philippines. My advice to those who wants to do the K2D or D2K traverse is, you should have 100% physical and mental preparedness and at least 1 week of training. There are some parts of the trail that has almost 90 degree rope segments. There are also some parts of the trail that you'll passed and hanged on a cliff were you only depend on the roots of the trees. I would like to thanks to our Habagat CDO and Habagat Davao friends for making this climb possible. #ChoosePhilippines #ItsMoreFunInThePhilippines #MindanaoMountains #Bukidnon #KitangladRange #MountKitanglad #MountDulang2x #KitangladBukidnon Enjoy the videos and please don't forget to subscribe and hit the notification button. 🔔

Kiholo Bay to Mano Point / Kailua-Kona, The Big Island
For more info on this hike, check out my blog post! https://www.thehikinghi.com/single-post/2017/09/02/Kiholo-Bay-to-Mano-Point---The-Big-Island This 4 mile out and back near Kailua-Kona, Hawaii is a beautiful hike that takes place entirely along the coast. You start at Kiholo Bay and head south where you will be traversing old lava rock, black sand beaches, and sea cliffs in order to reach the turnaround at Mano Point. Mano Point is a very secluded spot of the island where you will have miles of lava field on one side and the endless pacific ocean on the other. This isn't your traditional hike up a mountain, but it is a great adventure nonetheless. Music- "Renegades" by X Ambassadors Camera- GoPro Hero 5 and DJI Mavic Pro

Climbing Tasmania's Totem Pole (7.30 Report)
The rugged sea cliffs that tower along the Tasman Peninsula are home to one of the most iconic playgrounds for outdoor rock climbing, the Totem Pole. The ABC's 7.30 program joined a group of climbers filming an ascent of the narrow 60-metre sea stack at Cape Hauy. "It's one of the first really remote climbing locations that I remember seeing a picture of," American climber Libby Sauter says. "Being on the sides of cliffs going up them and just being out in the wild is where we get our jollies." Adding to the challenge is the notorious Tassie weather, with high winds and a thick sea mist setting in as the team begins to climb...

Running the Kalalau Trail on the Na Pali Coast of Kauai
The Kalalau Trail leads 11 miles along the rugged Nā Pali Coast on the north shore of the island of Kauai, Hawaii. The Trail traverses 5 lush valleys, above towering cliffs, before ending at Kalalau Beach where it is blocked by sheer, fluted pali. Most will take between 2-3 days to finish the trail. Our plan was to travel fast and light, running the entire 22 mile return trip in roughly 8 hours.
