VirtualBox Gaming! (Sorta but not really)

02:34
My Virtualbox gaming experiments started last year and culminated in this video. Results: Meh. The Vbox display flickering issue is a pretty well known off-and-on problem and apparently has been for a while. There are community patches to fix it but Oracle hasn't expressed much interest in fixing it themselves - https://techblog.devlat.eu/2017/04/07/screen-flickering-in-virtualbox-with-3d-enabled/ Regardless, the 3D performance in Virtualbox isn't good and that is why I didn't record any footage using this patch. I'm not exactly sure what the use case for 3D acceleration on Virtualbox is, especially since games will universally run better on Linux via Wine. ⬇︎Social Links ⬇︎ ✔︎ Discord: https://discord.gg/tVyBHAU ✔︎ Website: http://www.egee.io ✔︎ Twitter: https://twitter.com/egee_irl ---- 👍 Support The Channel By Clicking The Links Below! 👍 ✔︎ Motherboard: MSI A88XM: http://amzn.to/29OQeP6 ✔︎ CPU: A10-7850k: http://amzn.to/29rmTtB ✔︎ GPU: R7 360: http://amzn.to/29tLj4A ✔︎ RAM: Kingston HyperX 8gb: http://amzn.to/29SiRHP ✔︎ SSD: Samsung 850 EVO: http://amzn.to/29BABbA ✔︎ HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200rpm: http://amzn.to/29SjfpI ✔︎ Input: Steam Controller: http://amzn.to/29ufZmo ✔︎ Capture Device: Elgato Game Capture HD60: http://amzn.to/2aiPxup

Install Nvidia Driver on Ubuntu 16.04 (GUI Method for Beginners)

01:44
A quick tutorial video for installing the Nvidia proprietary driver on Ubuntu 16.04. Recommended that you watch the video in at least 720p for clarity of text. I have included English subtitles to assist you, just enable it in CC. This video is meant for beginners who have just done a fresh install of Ubuntu 16.04 on their computers and have an Nvidia graphics card. Step-by-step: 1. Make sure you have an Internet Connection. 2. Run the Software Updater in Ubuntu at least once. 3. Open the Ubuntu dash by either pressing the Ubuntu Icon or by pressing the Windows key on your keyboard. Search for 'Additional Drivers'. 4. Select any Nvidia binary driver that is available. Selecting a higher number is preferable over a lower numbered one. Click 'Apply Changes'. 5. Once it's done, restart Ubuntu. 6. You're done! To check that it installed successfully, open Ubuntu's dash. Search for 'Nvidia'. If you have the Nvidia X Server Settings program, your installation is successful. Whilst I specifically mention the 1000 series graphics cards in this video, this video is applicable to Nvidia graphics cards as far back as the 500 series. Please note, if you're using an Optimus laptop things may be different. I cannot assist you here as Nvidia's Optimus support is different for each card generation. My main computer rig specs: CPU - Intel i7-4770 3.4Ghz GPU - Nvidia GTX 1070 8GB RAM - 16GB DDR3 ADATA 1600MHz OS - Ubuntu 16.04 64Bit/Windows 10 Pro 64Bit (Dual Boot) Video recorded using: Media Express Blackmagic Intensity Pro 4k Audacity 2.1.2 Blue Yeti Mic Video edited using the following software: KDENLIVE 15.12.3 GIMP 2.8.16 Download Ubuntu 16.04 and 16.10 for free: http://www.ubuntu.com/ Download GIMP 2.8.16 for free: http://www.gimp.org/ My small development blog: techpromad.wordpress.com My alias in ubuntuforums.org: myromance123 About me: I'm just a Malaysian, who loves Ubuntu and Linux, and more so gaming!

How to Install Linux Mint 19 Cinnamon on VirtualBox

09:43
In This video tutorial I am going to show how to install Linux Mint 19 Cinnamon on VirtualBox step by step. More specifically We are going to install Linux Mint 19 "Tara" - Cinnamon (64-bit). In addition I will show How do I install VirtualBox Guest Additions on Linux Mint. Linux Mint is a 32- and 64-bit Linux distribution for desktop computers, based on either Ubuntu or Debian.Linux Mint works straight out of the box: everything you need is already there in the distribution, meaning you don't have to spend time installing additional applications (-unless you want to) It's based on Ubuntu, which means that the majority of sofware available for Ubuntu will also work on Mint It's community based, which means that any Linux developers out there (-and there are many) can contribute to the codebase. Often, this means fixes are available quicker than distros maintained by companies (-such as Ubuntu and Fedora) - which generally only release updates twice a year. VirtualBox is a virtualization software which allows us to run a guest operating system while simultaneously running their host operating system. What is VirtualBox Guest Additions? VirtualBox Guest Additions is software package which can be installed inside the OS (Operating system) running inside of the virtual machine, at or the guest machine. -------------------Online Courses to learn---------------------------- Blockchain Course - http://bit.ly/2Mmzcv0 Big Data Hadoop Course - http://bit.ly/2MV97PL Java - https://bit.ly/2H6wqXk C++ - https://bit.ly/2q8VWl1 AngularJS - https://bit.ly/2qebsLu Python - https://bit.ly/2Eq0VSt C- https://bit.ly/2HfZ6L8 Android - https://bit.ly/2qaRSAS Linux - https://bit.ly/2IwOuqz AWS Certified Solutions Architect - https://bit.ly/2JrGoAF Modern React with Redux - https://bit.ly/2H6wDtA MySQL - https://bit.ly/2qcF63Z ----------------------Follow--------------------------------------------- My Website - http://www.codebind.com My Blog - https://goo.gl/Nd2pFn My Facebook Page - https://goo.gl/eLp2cQ Google+ - https://goo.gl/lvC5FX Twitter - https://twitter.com/ProgrammingKnow Pinterest - https://goo.gl/kCInUp Text Case Converter - https://goo.gl/pVpcwL -------------------------Stuff I use to make videos ------------------- Stuff I use to make videos Windows notebook – http://amzn.to/2zcXPyF Apple MacBook Pro – http://amzn.to/2BTJBZ7 Ubuntu notebook - https://amzn.to/2GE4giY Desktop - http://amzn.to/2zct252 Microphone – http://amzn.to/2zcYbW1 notebook mouse – http://amzn.to/2BVs4Q3 ------------------Facebook Links ---------------------------------------- http://fb.me/ProgrammingKnowledgeLearning/ http://fb.me/AndroidTutorialsForBeginners http://fb.me/Programmingknowledge http://fb.me/CppProgrammingLanguage http://fb.me/JavaTutorialsAndCode http://fb.me/SQLiteTutorial http://fb.me/UbuntuLinuxTutorials http://fb.me/EasyOnlineConverter

R9 280x Build Vlog - GPU Mining on a Virtual Machine

This is a followup video to my purchase of the R9 280x. I was snowed in and decided to record a build vlog of how I setup a new virtual machine on my VMware ESXi 6.5 Hypervisor server, install my new AMD R9 280x GPU, passthrough the GPU to the new virtual machine, and start mining crypto with it. I go through all the steps in order, concluding with optimizing the GPU for 24/7 operation. It's a longer video, so grab some popcorn and watch me go through the paces to get things up and running. Accelerating & Optimizing Machine Learning on VMware vSphere leveraging NVIDIA GPUs

32:31
In this video from the 2019 Stanford HPC Conference, Mohan Potheri from VMware, presents: Accelerating & Optimizing Machine Learning on VMware vSphere leveraging NVIDIA GPUs. "This session introduces machine learning on vSphere to the attendee and explains when and why GPUs are important for them. Basic machine learning with Apache Spark is demonstrated. GPUs can be effectively shared in vSphere environments and the various methods of sharing are addressed here. We will explore features like suspending/resuming a VM that has GPUs attached to it, for sharing of those resources. Compelling use cases were developed leveraging vSphere's GPU capabilities. These use cases showcase deep learning with GPGPUs for image processing, stock prediction and distributed training. References to various technical papers will be given." Mohan Potheri is VCDX#98 and has more than 20 years in IT infrastructure, with in depth experience on VMWARE virtualization. He currently focuses on evangelization of "High Performance Computing (HPC)" and "Big Data” Virtualization on vSphere. He also has extensive experience with business-critical applications such as SAP, Oracle, SQL and Java across UNIX, Linux and Windows environments. Mohan Potheri is an expert on SAP virtualization and has been a speaker in multiple VMWORLD and PEX events. Prior to VMWARE, Mohan worked at many large enterprises where he has engineered fully virtualized HPC Solutions. Steps: 1- Create Virtual Machine on Oracle VirtualBox 2- Start NetBSD 7.1 Installation 3- Install Xorg and XFCE Desktop 4- Installing Firefox, VLC, GIMP, FileZilla and LibreOffice Applications 5- NetBSD 7.1 Overview NetBSD 7.1 New Features and Improvements NetBSD is a free, fast, secure, and highly portable Unix-like Open Source operating system. It is available for a wide range of platforms, from large-scale servers and powerful desktop systems to handheld and embedded devices. NetBSD 7.1 is the first feature update of the NetBSD 7 release branch. It represents a selected subset of fixes deemed important for security or stability reasons, as well as new features and enhancements. NetBSD 7.1 release include support for the Raspberry Pi Zero single-board computer, better compatibility with Linux binaries so you can use various apps and plugins, such as Adobe Flash Player, better Ethernet support for ODROID-C1 SBCs, and the implementation of the vioscsi driver for Google Compute Engine disks. NetBSD 7.1 also comes with initial DRM/KMS support for Nvidia GPUs by using the Nouveau open-source graphics driver, which appears to be disabled by default. To enable it, you will have to uncomment both nouveaufb and nouveau in the kernel config. Wake-on-LAN (WoL) support has been included as well in the NetBSD 7.1 release, along with support for 2.5G and C2000 KX. It also looks like NetBSD now works on 82575 and newer SERDES-based systems.
