For more detailed Tutorial visit - https://goo.gl/bbvi0C A shell script is a computer program designed to be run by the Unix shell, a command-line interpreter. The various dialects of shell scripts are considered to be scripting languages. A shell usually interprets a single line of input, but we can also create a file containing a number of lines of commands to be interpreted. This file is a program known as a shell script. The program can also contain control structures (if-then, loops). Shell scripts allow a sequence of commands to be executed automatically . BASH scripting lesson 10 working with CSV files

12:03
More videos like this online at http://www.theurbanpenguin.com We now have some more great fun and see how much we can use the shell for; creating reports easily from the command line against CSV files. The script should be quite easy to read now as we use a while loop to read in the CSV file. We change the file delimiter to be the comma and then we have the line that we read in broken up into the schema elements we need. A report then is easy with colours and search ability. This is very usable

Linux Shell Scripting (Writing and Executing a Shell script)

06:32
This tutorial shows how to write and execute a simple shell script. Steps -- 1) Use any text editor to write the shell script 2) Save the file with .sh extension eg. first.sh . 3) Open terminal and go to the folder where you saved the file. 4) To execute the script, type: chmod +x file_name ./file_name 5) To execute the script without setting the execute permission, type: interpreter_name file_name e.g., bash first.sh 6) To execute the script inside the current shell***, type: . file_name (alternatively, type: source file_name) (*** The other two options launch a new shell and execute the commands in it. But sometimes we need to run the script in the present shell.)

how to launch any graphical application on linux or X11 forwarding or Xming launch

02:21
This video is about how to use Graphical application in Linux server environment. And this video will cover the basic concept of X11 forwarding, Xming server, DISPLAY variable in Linux and Graphical application on Linux. So to get the Graphical access to any GUI based application we need to follow below listed steps: 1. While logging into the server, Enable the X11 forwarding in Putty Setting. 2. After Login into the Linux machine you need run X11 forwarding server which is "xming" on window machine, which you are using to get access to the Linux server. 3. The xming can be downloaded from google and very easy to install. To launch Xming just click on "Xming Launch" icon and provide the port number where you want to run the xming server and finish the setup. 4. Once Xming is successfully launched on window machine. Just go to the Linux server and set the DISPLAY environment variable using the command "export DISPLAY=Window machine IP : Port of Xming server" i.e. "export DISPLAY=10.66.12.249:7.0" (Refer video for more clarity). 5. You can launch any Graphical application now. Test using "xclock" command. Also check the IPTABLES & SELINUX status at your Linux machine, both should be turned off. We are focusing on the basic problems, which we are facing during the installation or implementation of any application and due to unavailability of related content, it took large amount of time. Hope this kind of video will help you and you will not lose your continuity during the activity. Will come with more videos soon.

shell script for checking status of server

14:10
http://www.ciscoarmenia.com/ A shell script is a computer program designed to be run by the Unix shell, a command line interpreter. The various dialects of shell scripts are considered to be scripting languages. Typical operations performed by shell scripts include file manipulation, program execution, and printing text. From ping's man page If ping does not receive any reply packets at all it will exit with code 1. If a packet count and deadline are both specified, and fewer than count packets are received by the time the deadline has arrived, it will also exit with code 1. On other error it exits with code 2. Otherwise it exits with code 0. This makes it possible to use the exit code to see if a host is alive or not.

Shell Scripting Tutorial for Beginners 28 - How to debug a bash script

07:23
sh -x script [arg1 ...] bash -x script [arg1 ...] These give you a trace of what is being executed. Using the set Bash built-in you can run in normal mode those portions of the script of which you are sure they are without fault, and display debugging information only for troublesome zones. Say we are not sure what the w command will do in the example commented-script1.sh, then we could enclose it in the script like this: set -x # activate debugging from here set +x # stop debugging from here -------------------Online Courses to learn---------------------------- Blockchain Course - http://bit.ly/2Mmzcv0 Big Data Hadoop Course - http://bit.ly/2MV97PL Java - https://bit.ly/2H6wqXk C++ - https://bit.ly/2q8VWl1 AngularJS - https://bit.ly/2qebsLu Python - https://bit.ly/2Eq0VSt C- https://bit.ly/2HfZ6L8 Android - https://bit.ly/2qaRSAS Linux - https://bit.ly/2IwOuqz AWS Certified Solutions Architect - https://bit.ly/2JrGoAF Modern React with Redux - https://bit.ly/2H6wDtA MySQL - https://bit.ly/2qcF63Z ----------------------Follow--------------------------------------------- My Website - http://www.codebind.com My Blog - https://goo.gl/Nd2pFn My Facebook Page - https://goo.gl/eLp2cQ Google+ - https://goo.gl/lvC5FX Twitter - https://twitter.com/ProgrammingKnow Pinterest - https://goo.gl/kCInUp Text Case Converter - https://goo.gl/pVpcwL -------------------------Stuff I use to make videos ------------------- Stuff I use to make videos Windows notebook – http://amzn.to/2zcXPyF Apple MacBook Pro – http://amzn.to/2BTJBZ7 Ubuntu notebook - https://amzn.to/2GE4giY Desktop - http://amzn.to/2zct252 Microphone – http://amzn.to/2zcYbW1 notebook mouse – http://amzn.to/2BVs4Q3 ------------------Facebook Links ---------------------------------------- http://fb.me/ProgrammingKnowledgeLearning/ http://fb.me/AndroidTutorialsForBeginners http://fb.me/Programmingknowledge http://fb.me/CppProgrammingLanguage http://fb.me/JavaTutorialsAndCode http://fb.me/SQLiteTutorial http://fb.me/UbuntuLinuxTutorials http://fb.me/EasyOnlineConverter

Java Tutorial - Compiling and Running Java Programs using Command Prompt and Unix Terminal

05:01
Watch in 1080p HD for optimal clarity! All commands used are listed below for your convenience. In this video I demonstrate through the use of screen captures and narration how to compile and run Java programs using the Windows Command Prompt and the Ubuntu Unix Terminal. No IDE is required for the compilation and execution process - compilation and execution can be performed via the Command Prompt and the Terminal. I'll also demonstrate how to install and set up the Oracle Java Development Kit (JDK) on Windows and Ubuntu systems, as well explain briefly what a JDK is. To compile and run Java programs, we require the Java Compiler, the Java Virtual Machine and the Java Standard Library, all of which are included in the JDK, hence the JDK is absolutely essential for our purposes. I hope you learn something new from this video tutorial, and if you like it, please like, comment and subscribe! ----- Download Link for JDK ----- Download x64 installer if your system is 64-bit, and download x86 installer if your system is 32-bit. http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk7-downloads-1880260.html Check Operating System for Windows: Control Panel - System and Security - System Check Operating System for Ubuntu: Settings - System Details ----- Commands for Windows ----- Updating PATH Variable - Append to End of Value: ;C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_25\bin Moving to Directory Containing Source File - Type into CMD: cd [Path of Directory Containing Source File] Compiling Program - Type into CMD: javac [source file name].java Running Program - Type into CMD: java [source file name] ----- Commands for Ubuntu ----- Delete OpenJDK - Type into Terminal: sudo apt-get purge openjdk-\* Move to Downloads Folder - Type into Terminal: cd ~/Downloads Create New Directory for JDK Installation - Type into Terminal: sudo mkdir -p /usr/local/java Move Installer into New Directory - Type into Terminal: sudo mv [installer file name].tar.gz /usr/local/java Move to New Directory - Type into Terminal: cd /usr/local/java Extract Installer - Type into Terminal: sudo tar xvzf [installer file name].tar.gz Open Profile File - Type into Terminal: sudo gedit /etc/profile Update PATH Variable - Append to End of File: JAVA_HOME=/usr/local/java/jdk1.7.0_25 PATH=$PATH:$HOME/bin:$JAVA_HOME/bin export JAVA_HOME export PATH Inform System of New JDK - Type into Terminal: sudo update-alternatives --install "/usr/bin/java" "java" "/usr/local/java/jdk1.7.0_25/jre/bin/java" 1 sudo update-alternatives --install "/usr/bin/javac" "javac" "/usr/local/java/jdk1.7.0_25/bin/javac" 1 udo update-alternatives --install "/usr/bin/javaws" "javaws" "/usr/local/java/jdk1.7.0_25/jre/bin/javaws" 1 Set JDK as Default - Type into Terminal: sudo update-alternatives --set java /usr/local/java/jdk1.7.0_25/jre/bin/java sudo update-alternatives --set javac /usr/local/java/jdk1.7.0_25/bin/javac sudo update-alternatives --set javaws /usr/local/java/jdk1.7.0_25/jre/bin/javaws Reload PATH Variable - Type into Terminal: . /etc/profile Move to Directory Containing Source File - Type into Terminal: cd [Location of Directory] Compile Java Program - Type into Terminal: javac [File Name of Source File].java Run Program - Type into Terminal: java [File Name of Source File] ----- Programs Used for Production ----- Camtasia Studio 8 (Screen Capture) Sony Vegas Pro 12.0 (Video Editing) Audacity (Noise Removal) Microsoft PowerPoint (Slideshow) ----- Credits ----- Intro Template Obtained From: http://www.ravenprodesign.com/ Background Music: The XX - Intro ----- References ----- http://docs.oracle.com/javase/7/docs/webnotes/install/windows/jdk-installation-windows.html http://docs.oracle.com/javase/7/docs/webnotes/install/linux/linux-jdk.html http://www.skylit.com/javamethods/faqs/javaindos.html http://www.wikihow.com/Install-Oracle-Java-on-Ubuntu-Linux
