How to Detect Soft Corruption in Oracle 12c Database

18:19
Detection of Soft Corruption in 12c: To use the scripts below replace : , ",# and $ by proper bracket Lets Create a tablespace and small table. SQL: create tablespace DEMO1 datafile '/u02/tstdb1/TSTDB1/datafile/demo01.dbf' size 50M SQL: create table objects tablespace DEMO1 as select * from dba_objects; SQL: alter table objects add constraint pk_obj primary key #object_id$; SQL: create index idx_obj_name on objects#object_name$ tablespace demo1; Backup tablespace. RMAN: backup tablespace DEMO1; We need to put the DB in archivelog first Rebuild index with NOLOGGING option to simulate soft corruption later. RMAN: alter index idx_obj_name rebuild nologging; Confirm that we have datafiles that require backup because they have been affected with NOLOGGING operation. RMAN: report unrecoverable; Simulate corruption. RMAN: alter database datafile 5 offline; RMAN: restore datafile 5; RMAN: recover datafile 5; RMAN: alter database datafile 5 online; Query table with corrupted index and notice error. SQL: select count#*$ from objects where object_name like 'A%'; Let’s perform validation of datafile to check block corruption. RMAN: backup validate check logical datafile 5; Notice that we have 457 blocks marked corrupt but v$database_block_corruption view is empty. SQL: select count#*$ from v$database_block_corruption; Let’s query v$nonlogged_block view. set lines 200 set pages 999 select file#, block#, blocks,object#,reason from v$nonlogged_block; Will RMAN detect that we have corrupted blocks? RMAN: backup datafile 5; RMAN backup won’t fail due to NOLOGGING corrupt blocks and our backup will contain soft corrupted blocks. Let’s Identify corrupt segments using v$nonlogged_block view. set lines 2000 set pages 9999 col owner for a20 col partition_name for a10 col segment_name for a20 SELECT e.owner, e.segment_type, e.segment_name, e.partition_name, c.file# , greatest#e.block_id, c.block#$ corr_start_block# , least#e.block_id+e.blocks-1, c.block#+c.blocks-1$ corr_end_block# , least#e.block_id+e.blocks-1, c.block#+c.blocks-1$ - greatest#e.block_id, c.block#$ + 1 blocks_corrupted FROM dba_extents e, V$NONLOGGED_BLOCK c WHERE e.file_id = c.file# AND e.block_id "= c.block# + c.blocks - 1 AND e.block_id + e.blocks - 1 := c.block# UNION SELECT s.owner, s.segment_type, s.segment_name, s.partition_name, c.file# , header_block corr_start_block# , header_block corr_end_block# , 1 blocks_corrupted FROM dba_segments s, V$NONLOGGED_BLOCK c WHERE s.header_file = c.file# AND s.header_block between c.block# and c.block# + c.blocks - 1 UNION SELECT null owner, null segment_type, null segment_name, null partition_name, c.file# , greatest#f.block_id, c.block#$ corr_start_block# , least#f.block_id+f.blocks-1, c.block#+c.blocks-1$ corr_end_block# , least#f.block_id+f.blocks-1, c.block#+c.blocks-1$ - greatest#f.block_id, c.block#$ + 1 blocks_corrupted FROM dba_free_space f, V$NONLOGGED_BLOCK c WHERE f.file_id = c.file# AND f.block_id "= c.block# + c.blocks - 1 AND f.block_id + f.blocks - 1 := c.block# order by file#, corr_start_block# / This is the best outcome to get if you notice corruption errors. All errors are related to index corruption so we could fix this problem rebuilding index. alter index idx_obj_name rebuild; Simply issuing "alter index rebuild" command won't work. We should mark index unusable to drop segment before rebuilding it or just rebuild index with online option. It is better choice to mark index unusable because you don't need additional space then, but I will simply rebuild index with online option and see what will happen. SQL: alter index idx_obj_name rebuild online; Index altered. SQL: select count#*$ from objects where object_name like 'A%'; No errors... but, let's validate datafile for corruption. RMAN: backup validate check logical datafile 5; Notice "Marked Corrupt" column. Hm... 457 like before. Don't worry, this is not new corruption. These are FREE blocks which will be reused and Oracle will automatically re-format those blocks. Query the v$nonlogged_block view again as given above. We could force re-formatting creating dummy table and inserting data to dummy table. Check Doc ID 336133.1. create table s # n number, c varchar2#4000$ $ nologging tablespace DEMO1; SQL: BEGIN FOR i IN 1..1000000 LOOP INSERT /*+ APPEND */ INTO sys.s select i, lpad#'REFORMAT',3092, 'R'$ from dual; commit ; END LOOP; END; / SQL: drop table sys.s purge; Notice that we don't have corrupted blocks any more. RMAN: backup validate check logical datafile 5;

Alter database table columns without dropping table Part 67

04:06
In this video, we will discuss, altering a database table column without having the need to drop the table. Let's understand this with an example. Text version of the video http://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/2013/08/part-67-alter-database-table-columns.html Slides http://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/2013/09/part-67-alter-database-table-columns.html All SQL Server Text Articles http://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/p/free-sql-server-video-tutorials-for.html All SQL Server Slides http://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/p/sql-server.html All Dot Net and SQL Server Tutorials in English https://www.youtube.com/user/kudvenkat/playlists?view=1&sort=dd All Dot Net and SQL Server Tutorials in Arabic https://www.youtube.com/c/KudvenkatArabic/playlists We will be using table tblEmployee for this demo. Use the sql script below, to create and populate this table with some sample data. Create table tblEmployee ( ID int primary key identity, Name nvarchar(50), Gender nvarchar(50), Salary nvarchar(50) ) Insert into tblEmployee values('Sara Nani','Female','4500') Insert into tblEmployee values('James Histo','Male','5300') Insert into tblEmployee values('Mary Jane','Female','6200') Insert into tblEmployee values('Paul Sensit','Male','4200') Insert into tblEmployee values('Mike Jen','Male','5500') The requirement is to group the salaries by gender. To achieve this we would write a sql query using GROUP BY as shown below. Select Gender, Sum(Salary) as Total from tblEmployee Group by Gender When you execute this query, we will get an error - Operand data type nvarchar is invalid for sum operator. This is because, when we created tblEmployee table, the "Salary" column was created using nvarchar datatype. SQL server Sum() aggregate function can only be applied on numeric columns. So, let's try to modify "Salary" column to use int datatype. Let's do it using the designer. 1. Right click on "tblEmployee" table in "Object Explorer" window, and select "Design" 2. Change the datatype from nvarchar(50) to int 3. Save the table At this point, you will get an error message - Saving changes is not permitted. The changes you have made require the following tables to be dropped and re-created. You have either made changes to a table that can't be re-created or enabled the option Prevent saving changes that require the table to be re-created. So, the obvious next question is, how to alter the database table definition without the need to drop, re-create and again populate the table with data? There are 2 options Option 1: Use a sql query to alter the column as shown below. Alter table tblEmployee Alter column Salary int Option 2: Disable "Prevent saving changes that require table re-creation" option in sql server 2008 1. Open Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio 2008 2. Click Tools, select Options 3. Expand Designers, and select "Table and Database Designers" 4. On the right hand side window, uncheck, Prevent saving changes that require table re-creation 5. Click OK

What is a VIEW in Oracle? An Oracle VIEW, in essence, is a virtual table that does not physically exist. Rather, it is created by a query joining one or more tables. Create VIEW Syntax The syntax for the CREATE VIEW Statement in Oracle/PLSQL is: CREATE VIEW view_name AS SELECT columns FROM tables [WHERE conditions]; view_name The name of the Oracle VIEW that you wish to create. WHERE conditions Optional. The conditions that must be met for the records to be included in the VIEW. Example Here is an example of how to use the Oracle CREATE VIEW: CREATE VIEW sup_orders AS SELECT suppliers.supplier_id, orders.quantity, orders.price FROM suppliers INNER JOIN orders ON suppliers.supplier_id = orders.supplier_id WHERE suppliers.supplier_name = 'Microsoft'; This Oracle CREATE VIEW example would create a virtual table based on the result set of the SELECT statement. You can now query the Oracle VIEW as follows: SELECT * FROM sup_orders; Update VIEW You can modify the definition of an Oracle VIEW without dropping it by using the Oracle CREATE OR REPLACE VIEW Statement. Syntax The syntax for the CREATE OR REPLACE VIEW Statement in Oracle/PLSQL is: CREATE OR REPLACE VIEW view_name AS SELECT columns FROM table WHERE conditions; view_name The name of the Oracle VIEW that you wish to create or replace. Example Here is an example of how you would use the Oracle CREATE OR REPLACE VIEW Statement: CREATE or REPLACE VIEW sup_orders AS SELECT suppliers.supplier_id, orders.quantity, orders.price FROM suppliers INNER JOIN orders ON suppliers.supplier_id = orders.supplier_id WHERE suppliers.supplier_name = 'Apple'; This Oracle CREATE OR REPLACE VIEW example would update the definition of the Oracle VIEW called sup_orders without dropping it. If the Oracle VIEW did not yet exist, the VIEW would merely be created for the first time. Drop VIEW Once an Oracle VIEW has been created, you can drop it with the Oracle DROP VIEW Statement. Syntax The syntax for the DROP VIEW Statement in Oracle/PLSQL is: DROP VIEW view_name; view_name The name of the view that you wish to drop. Example Here is an example of how to use the Oracle DROP VIEW Statement: DROP VIEW sup_orders; This Oracle DROP VIEW example would drop/delete the Oracle VIEW called sup_orders. Frequently Asked Questions Question: Can you update the data in an Oracle VIEW? Answer: A VIEW in Oracle is created by joining one or more tables. When you update record(s) in a VIEW, it updates the records in the underlying tables that make up the View. So, yes, you can update the data in an Oracle VIEW providing you have the proper privileges to the underlying Oracle tables. Question: Does the Oracle View exist if the table is dropped from the database? Answer: Yes, in Oracle, the VIEW continues to exist even after one of the tables (that the Oracle VIEW is based on) is dropped from the database. However, if you try to query the Oracle VIEW after the table has been dropped, you will receive a message indicating that the Oracle VIEW has errors. If you recreate the table (the table that you had dropped), the Oracle VIEW will again be fine.

FoEhints: Straight Tips for Beginners in Forge of Empires

03:37
Straight tips for beginners In the very beginning I like to move my town hall. That helps me to see everything and to use the space more efficiently. My motto is: As few streets as possible. Unfortunately that motivates many players to place many decorations as these do not need a connection to a street. You can fill gaps with it sooo easily. But that is not a good idea. To enable your city to take the best advantage of other players help tiny buildings and decorations should be eliminated. Cultural buildings are much better to keep your people's happiness above 120%. Just delete all decorations at the beginning. Also replace the initial small cultural buildings as soon as possible. Buying diamonds can make many things much easier and speed up your success. But this channel demonstrates how to succeed without buying diamonds. As a result you should be very mean with the few diamonds you get through normal gameplay. Never spend them for laziness, research, forge points or building space. The best use for your diamonds is to buy the last missing blue print for a legendary building you want to start. That reduces the time to wait significantly. As soon as you start fighting, it is an advantage to know which units were produced in military buildings and which are unattached. You will prefer to use unattached units for your city defence and those from military buildings for your attacks. You find the appropriate option in 'Settings'. As soon as you developed the fruit farm a mini game will be enabled: the treasure hunt. That is an excellent offer for those playing a lot. If you have the possibility to access your computer several times during the day, you can receive serious rewards like blue prints, unattached units and forge points. It is absolutely worth to do that! Collecting your coins and supplies regularily you can do with a single click and moving the mouse pointer over all relevant buildings. That is much faster than single clicks on individual buildings. You can replace houses directly. It is not necessary to remove one house before you build a new one. Replace your houses by chalets as soon as possible. With these it is much easier to provide the population needed on that limited building space. These chalets are your only house type until iron age. Then you replace them by cottages. These will last for quite a while. With these hints you will reach iron age within a few days and have the best preparation for everything that comes next. Have fun!

Excel to SQL

12:12
Excel to SQL http://www.sql-excel.com One of the things that I see IT software development people struggle with is SQL to Excel integration. SQL to Excel integration unfortunately has been made unnecessarily cumbersome because of the rather primitive awkward way Microsoft has chosen to implement SQL to Excel communication. That's why I created a way to solve SQL to Excel integration once and for all. It doesn't have to be hard. It doesn't have to take a long time to develop software/spreadsheets which integrates SQL to Excel. And in fact, Excel is the PERFECT platform for integrating SQL to Excel database access. Excel is PERFECT for rapid application development (RAD). The right out-of-the-box though, SQL to Excel integration is painful in Excel. Not only that, but the way SQL to Excel was implemented, it created tremendous opportunity for the data to be structured wrong, or at minimum, misinterpreted. Let me give you one specific example. I called this example "data drift." What do I mean by "data drift?" It's when you have a SQL table and it's imported into Excel. The data into Excel spreadsheet is static, imported only one time during an Excel session. However, the data in the SQL table continues to be updated by different user departments in the company. In essence, the SQL to Excel "data drifts" more and from the corporate database on the server. This is where Microsoft's way of integrating SQL to Excel functionality falls far short. As you can imagine, this can cause tremendous problems with departments and users. And it's one of the main reasons, SQL to Excel integration projects are so frustrating. I though there had to be a better way of implementing SQL to Excel integration. My new SQL to Excel tool set I developed, solves that problem once and for all. Because now the data can be refreshed either through seamless and transparent SQL to Excel, or Excel to SQL integrations at key checkpoints and function points in the spreadsheet. The best part, is that SQL to Excel integration is ALL transparent to the user. While there is updating going on in the background/behind the scenes, the user is unaware of the SQL to Excel communication going on. Once my way of SQL to Excel has been implemented, the problem of data drift literally disappears. Because it looks like to the user they are really doing SQL to Excel importing and later updating the SQL database IN REAL-TIME. SQL to Excel, or Excel to SQL doesn't have to be hard to develop either. In fact with my tools, if you're a software developer, I've made SQL to Excel a snap. In less than a few minutes from now, you can be impressing your boss or the users with what you can do with Excel. You'll be able to make Excel do backflips, things you, as a software developer always wanted it to do. Using my SQL to Excel toolset, rapid application development (RAD) is a reality inside Excel. I urge you to check out my website at http://www.sql-excel.com. Once you do, you'll never go back to the slow, error prone, painful way of implementing SQL to Excel integrations in the future. SQL to Excel integrations from here forward will actually be fun and make your users extremely happy and confident in the data. MySQL Workbench Database Export and Import

08:08
Learn Database Export and Import using MySQL Workbench. Open MySQL Workbench and logged in to MySQL database server using 'root' username and password. In previous couple of videos we learned how to Create, Alter, Drop Databases and Tables and also how to Insert, Read, Update, Delete data rows using MySQL Workbench. In this lecture we will learn how to Export and Import the database using MySQL Workbench. First of all to Export the databases or tables, from top menu 'Server' select 'Data Export' Option, which opens a new window of data export settings and options. The left section on the window displays all the existing databases on our MySQL database server. When we select a database by clicking on it, it displays all the respected tables under the selected database. We can select one or multiple database check-boxes to include the database in the Export file. Under 'Export Options' section, You can change the default export path of you choice. I'll keep the default one. By selecting first option that is 'Export to Dump Project Folder'. MySQL Workbench will save the save all tables as separate SQL file under one folder. Which is useful when you will be importing or restoring the export file one by one table. I'll go ahead quickly and first save as 'Export to Dump Project Folder', MySQL Workbench displays the progress bar and log. Now, I'll again export the database using 'Export to Self-contained File' option. To demonstrate the import first I'll delete the existing 'students' table under 'mytestdb' database. Display database details by clicking on 'i' symbol, select 'tables' tab. Select and right click 'students' table, and click 'Drop Table' option, confirm and delete the table. Click 'refresh' to update the tables section and we have no table in our 'mytestdb' database. Now select the database and from 'data import' window, select 'import from dump folder. 'Load folder contents' and select only 'mytestdb' database and click start import button to import 'students' table again. Go to 'mytestdb' database information window again and click 'refresh' button to reload table list again. and the 'students' table is back. Working with Date Functions and Date Formatting in Excel

12:06
This video lesson is a response to two YouTube viewers who wanted my help to learn how to use Excel's Date Functions and Excel's Custom Formatting to reveal the results that they were expecting in each cell. For the first viewer: I demonstrate how to use the =DATE(Year(), Month()=9, DAY()) Function to create a date that is 9 moths after the starting date. For my second viewer, I show him how to create and apply a CUSTOM date format of yyyy-mm-dd - (Year, Month, Day) - to the DESTINATION cells when he uses Copy & Paste. This is a two step process as you will see in this video. Finally, I show you how to take advantage of the NETWORKDAYS() and WORKDAY() Functions in Excel - including an optional list of mandated Holidays in the USA. A database is a collection of structured data that can be easily accessed. To work with databases we use a Database Management System (RDBMS or just DBMS for short). There are various database management systems out there, including but not limited to: - MySQL (free and open source) - MS SQL Server - Oracle - Postgres In this course, I'll be using MySQL because it's the most popular DBMS in the world, but you can practice SQL with any other database management systems. SQL is an essential skill for software development and data science projects. If you're pursuing a career in software development or data science, you must learn SQL. In this video, you're going to learn SQL basics from scratch. By the end of this tutorial, you'll be able to write basic SQL queries. You'll also learn all about SQL joins (inner joins, left joins, right joins, cross joins, natural joins). This course is packed with examples and exercises. Make sure to complete all the exercises. It's much easier to learn SQL by doing. Giddyup and Go! Aug 17-23 (I Ching, Tarot, Oracle, Astrology)

13:37
This week, if you don't get off the starting blocks, the universe may push you right off them anyway, so know that you have what you need--you're ready! From rolling the dice for the I Ching, the Tao Oracle by Ma Padma Devi shows 43: Resoluteness (or Decisiveness), which adds up to 7, the same as our Chariot Tarot. Lake is Above, and Heaven is below. That's a Lot of Swords-type strength in our foundation. and you'll see that with Mercury in Virgo and in the shadow cards, too. You know who you are now--you've gone through so much to decide it!-- and you need to act in integrity with that, even if this New You is quite different than the one you used to be or than what people have come to expect. From the Zirkus Magi tarot by Doug Thornsjo, The Chariot (7) in reverse seems to hint at some lingering hesitation in taking the reins of command. And here's the Nine of Rings: Attainment upright, an earth-element card which I'd already mentioned with regard to asteroid Juno, that independent woman of means who's harmonzing with Mercury in compatible Virgo this week. She always has what she needs and she's in the enviable position of taking no orders. She chooses what she does. On the inside, you're ready to step into a life with more of the kind of self-direction and comfort you want, but only if you dare pick up the reins. The Eight of Rings: Transformation is a fantasy workshop where you make the life you want. Unlike the more traditional depiction, this is no grind of stamping out duplicates in repetition. Everything in this studio is bright and magical and made to order. So much earth/pentacle energy that we know this week is all about the life you live in the world reflecting your inner values and priorities and bringing you the kind of rewards and recognition that you deserve. The Sun in Leo and Saturn in Scorpio are going to be squaring each other later this week. But rather than just feeling pushed-pulled, like a driver being run over under his own powerful chariot, you could choose to use them like an alchemist would. Little of this, little of that, as needed. You are always at the center of the fulcrum, the middle of the crossroads. That still point, where you know yourself in determination, is where your greatest power resides. This week, the Sun can lend its creative expansion and enthusiasm, while Saturn will chop out anything false and define useful boundaries. Whatever you need in order to manifest your heart's desire in the world, whether it's expanding or editing, these big forces have it on tap for you now. We haven't spent all this time learning balance not to get some advantage from it, right? The more centered and authentic you are, the more you can yoke that chariot of the black and white horse and get them both galloping where you direct! From The Enchanted Map oracle deck by Colette Baron-Reid comes 40: Follow the Leader. This is a card that says you can provide the best leadership by example, by being real. I think it's also pointing to the need to get going now, but with the knowledge that you don't travel alone. The manifold universe (from nature to the fairies to angels to deities to the planets and asteroids) has your back. The Shadow/Foundation/Underpinning cards from the bottom of the decks are both 4s. Enchanted Map Oracle is 4: Spirit of Place Reversed. The first thing I noticed was that this 4 echoed the oracle's earlier 40. 4 is a number of solidity, of security. You are more secure inside than you may be letting yourself be, and the reverse of Spirit of Place is about tuning WITHIN first. Don't look to the setting to define you, but, in this case, figure yourself out. Try to unravel your discomforts by examining them in the light of your goals. The shadow card for the Zirkus Magi Tarot was the 4 of Rings: Dominion. Yes, another 4 and another pentacle/earth card. So, you have the capacity to manifest like the big, sunny #4 of the Tarot, The Emperor. And even if you don't feel ready to speak your truth about all of it, or you don't feel like your plans are finalized, you may get pushed into disclosing yourself by circumstance. (Uranus at work this week, too.) But you'll ace the challenge, so don't worry. In fact, it may be a big relief finally to get your new inner self and your outer world into closer productive harmony. It's officially the dog days of summer in the Northern Hemisphere, when the Nile would flood, creating bounty for the future. You're doing that, too. Send a good wish to Isis's own star, Sirius, notable rising high and bright before dawn these days, and let that creative goddess help you conretely build your new life, just like she and her sister Nepthys helped resurrected Osiris and put him back together. Rock ON with your SO READY selves!

JUDCon 2012 - Modular Java EE in the Cloud

56:04
A JUDCon 2012 session presented by Paul Bakker Designing a system that can evolve without creating a maintenance nightmare is far from trivial and there are no silver bullets to do this correctly. A service oriented, modular architecture will help a lot to achieve this goal. Modularity forces separation of concerns which, when combined with a service oriented architecture, enables you to replace parts of a system without breaking others. The only mature modularity approach for Java is OSGi. OSGi is a framework that enables low-level modularity and services, but it is not an application framework like Java EE, i.e. you still need APIs to create web applications, use transactions, access data sources etc. Without these APIs you will have a hard time to actually build applications. Unfortunately OSGi and Java EE did not interoperate well in the past; it was very challenging to mix both. But what if we want modularity in our architecture, but also the ease-of-use of Java EE 6? Luckily times are changing. All major application servers are getting support for deploying mixed Java EE and OSGi applications. This makes it possible to deploy OSGi bundles that contain Java EE 6 code such as EJBs, JPA and JAX-RS resources. CDI can be used to inject OSGi services and EJBs can easily be exported as OSGi services too. The next question is how to deploy this into the cloud. Just uploading a large WAR file to a server in the cloud doesn't fit modularity very well. How can you update just parts of a running application without breaking the rest of it? We will introduce Apache ACE, an Open Source Provisioning Platform to deploy OSGi bundles (containing Java EE code) and other artifacts to the cloud.

432Hz - Angelic Reiki Music | Angel Healing Music - Angel Choir Ambience - Angelic Meditation Music

02:00:00
432Hz allows us to tune into the wisdom of the Universe, Divine Intelligence and our Soul. It creates Unity instead of seperation. It expands our hearts and make us more compassionate and loving. One thing is for sure. A person who resonates with love have inner peace – and this is the starting point for a world were we live in Unity, Peace and Harmony with each-other and Mother Earth. Modern science has begun to recognize what the ancient mystics and wise men have told us for centuries; that everything is in a constant state of vibration. Everything down to the smallest physical particle to the things we cannot not perceive with our (yet) limited senses. The most elemental state of vibration is that of sound. Everything has an optimum range of vibration (frequency), and that rate is called resonance. When we are in resonance, we are in balance. Every organ and every cell in our precious body absorbs and emits sound with particular optimum resonate frequency. 432hz and 528hz tuned music creates resonance in our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual body. Listen for 30 days for maximum effects. ................................ US 1-2 Michael Saylor, Chairman & CEO MicroStrategy: ,,The Mobile Wave''

27:16
1-2 MicroStrategy World 2012, Amsterdam, The Netherlands Presentation: The Mobile Wave, how mobile intelligence will change everything, by Michael Saylor, Chairman and CEO of MicroStrategy The MicroStrategy World 2012 was the perfect backdrop for the presentation of ,,The Mobile Wave'' a memorable book written by Michael Saylor, CEO of MicroStrategy. The speech of Michael Saylor was as memorable as the book. Saylor sketched a near future where there is no place for badly designed user interfaces and chunky laptops that crash at will. Saylor:,,I meet a lot of CIO's and CEO's. All are using an iPad on a day to day basis. Nobody is using a desktop system, Windows laptop or web based environment.'' The Mobile technology wave is, in the vision of Michael Saylor, of up-most importance for Business Intelligence. Managers want they information preferably yesterday, with a high degree of relevance and no delay in response. Michael Saylor:,,They don't use web browser based systems because of the delays. I don't want to wait for thirty seconds to get an answer. Think of how you, as journalists, would feel if it takes the guy you interview thirty seconds to give an answer! Apps are faster and deliver Business Intelligence instantaneously.'' Technology Assessment redefined Writing The Mobile Wave, in his own and rather unique way, Michael Saylor redefined Technology Assessment (1):,,The technological wave marking this second decade of the twenty-first century is indeed radical. We, as individuals, must learn to understand its current state and and its potential to affect our daily lives; leaders of corporations and heads of governments, as well, must adopt to its powerfull forces or risk seeing what they have build perish in a relative instant.'' Pervasive Saylor describes how mobile technology has become pervasive in every aspect of our lives:,,Products we have lived with our entire lives are becoming software because of computing technology. Magazines and newspapers are becoming software as are books. Everything in our wallets from Ids to cash will become software, as we adopt pay-with-your phone technology.'' Far future? Not really. As I write this article I'm smiling at the newest Acer Liquid Glow Android 4.0.4 smartphone with NFC. Totally ready for pay-with-your phone, and more, much more. Its a cute little thing that sells for a mass market price of under 200 dollars. I've Twittered, Facebooked, linked to Linkedin etc. and the on screen keyboard is very workable. No doubt we are going to take a ride on a mobile wave. So dear audience, please read this book, it will throw a different, and in the eyes of many, very new light on the near future of our society. Confined to Apple? So are we going to be confined to Apple or is there a level playing field? On Friday 13 2012 I almost kissed a netbook. It was at the glorious presentation of a bunch of high quality ASUS products in the Escape nightclub, Amsterdam The Netherlands. ASUS also showed a neat little netbook, the new and well crafted, Intel dual core Atom Cedar Trail based, ASUS Eee PC 1225C with the newest open source Ubuntu Linux for a mere 209 euro. A full blown Libre Office office suite is included, and the ASUS reresentative emphasized that:,,It will read anything from Microsoft Office XP on.'' CEOs and CFOs will keep on loving their iPads, but there are more Ubuntu Linux lovers in this world then CEOs. In the meanwhile Red Hat is taking over the enterprise backoffice by surprise, strengthening he grip of the penquin. Of course it will take a awhile, but writing this article in OpenOffice, the free Oracle brother of LibreOffice is no more stressing then writing this in the Microsoft Office suite. The same goes for the AUS Android pad offerings like the popular Transformer series and the recently announced equivalents of Acer. SQL Review Video 20: Real-World Query Writing Tips

20:37
In this last video in the SQL Review series, the focus is on writing queries in the real-world. A significant portion of the video is spent on step-by-step solution development for a complex query in the AdventureWorks2012 sample database. A date arithmetic function is introduced to solve one of the query's problems. NOTE: The audio quality during the demo is poor. Time permitting, I will voice over it.

How to Reset MySQL Autoincrement

01:16
Follow this step by step guide to reset the auto-increment option from mysql. The reset helps to stream line the database as you can type in the number that was previously used. Don't forget to check out our site http://howtech.tv/ for more free how-to videos! http://youtube.com/ithowtovids - our feed http://www.Facebook.com/howtechtv - join us on Facebook https://plus.google.com/103440382717658277879 - our group in Google+ Introduction In this tutorial, we will show you how to reset the Auto increment field in MySQL. Mysql Auto-increment allows a unique number to be generated when a new record is inserted into a table. The function allows you to automatically add 1 to the previous record if you enter a new value. You can always reset Mysql auto increment so that when you delete a record your data does show an uneven picture. Step 1 -- Selecting records Over here, we will be using the MySQL instance called SQL Yog. Just consider this table having the names of animals and the serial number, in this example the Mysql auto increment function is in operation. If we delete any of the record from the table, that particular ID value will not be associated with any other field. This is because the auto number field will not change its order according to the changes made in the table. Step 2 -- Selecting the column To fix this problem, you can simply drop the column and make it once again. For that, we will write the alter table query along with the table name and specify the id column with the drop keyword. When we run the query and fetch all the records from the table, you will notice that the ID field has been deleted. Now let's type the Alter Table query and give the table name which in our case is animals. Next, we will include the ADD keyword along with the column name which is ID in this case. Next, we will specify the data type, which would be Medium Integer in this case and after that, let's add the Not Null and Auto increment Constraints along with the Primary key. With that done, let's run the query and fetch all the records from the database. With that done, you will notice that all Auto increment field has been reset, and all the ID's are now in order. And in this manner you can reset Mysql auto increment.
