PL/SQL: Stored Procedures Part-1

06:19
In this tutorial, you'll learn what are stored procedures PL/SQL (Procedural Language/Structured Query Language) is Oracle Corporation's procedural extension for SQL and the Oracle relational database. PL/SQL is available in Oracle Database (since version 7), TimesTen in-memory database (since version 11.2.1), and IBM DB2 (since version 9.7).[1] Oracle Corporation usually extends PL/SQL functionality with each successive release of the Oracle Database. PL/SQL includes procedural language elements such as conditions and loops. It allows declaration of constants and variables, procedures and functions, types and variables of those types, and triggers. It can handle exceptions (runtime errors). Arrays are supported involving the use of PL/SQL collections. Implementations from version 8 of Oracle Database onwards have included features associated with object-orientation. One can create PL/SQL units such as procedures, functions, packages, types, and triggers, which are stored in the database for reuse by applications that use any of the Oracle Database programmatic interfaces. PL/SQL works analogously to the embedded procedural languages associated with other relational databases. For example, Sybase ASE and Microsoft SQL Server have Transact-SQL, PostgreSQL has PL/pgSQL (which emulates PL/SQL to an extent), and IBM DB2 includes SQL Procedural Language,[2] which conforms to the ISO SQL’s SQL/PSM standard. The designers of PL/SQL modeled its syntax on that of Ada. Both Ada and PL/SQL have Pascal as a common ancestor, and so PL/SQL also resembles Pascal in several aspects. However, the structure of a PL/SQL package does not resemble the basic Object Pascal program structure as implemented by a Borland Delphi or Free Pascal unit. Programmers can define public and private global data-types, constants and static variables in a PL/SQL package.[3] PL/SQL also allows for the definition of classes and instantiating these as objects in PL/SQL code. This resembles usage in object-oriented programming languages like Object Pascal, C++ and Java. PL/SQL refers to a class as an "Abstract Data Type" (ADT) or "User Defined Type" (UDT), and defines it as an Oracle SQL data-type as opposed to a PL/SQL user-defined type, allowing its use in both the Oracle SQL Engine and the Oracle PL/SQL engine. The constructor and methods of an Abstract Data Type are written in PL/SQL. The resulting Abstract Data Type can operate as an object class in PL/SQL. Such objects can also persist as column values in Oracle database tables. PL/SQL is fundamentally distinct from Transact-SQL, despite superficial similarities. Porting code from one to the other usually involves non-trivial work, not only due to the differences in the feature sets of the two languages,[4] but also due to the very significant differences in the way Oracle and SQL Server deal with concurrency and locking. There are software tools available that claim to facilitate porting including Oracle Translation Scratch Editor,[5] CEITON MSSQL/Oracle Compiler [6] and SwisSQL.[7] The StepSqlite product is a PL/SQL compiler for the popular small database SQLite. PL/SQL Program Unit A PL/SQL program unit is one of the following: PL/SQL anonymous block, procedure, function, package specification, package body, trigger, type specification, type body, library. Program units are the PL/SQL source code that is compiled, developed and ultimately executed on the database. The basic unit of a PL/SQL source program is the block, which groups together related declarations and statements. A PL/SQL block is defined by the keywords DECLARE, BEGIN, EXCEPTION, and END. These keywords divide the block into a declarative part, an executable part, and an exception-handling part. The declaration section is optional and may be used to define and initialize constants and variables. If a variable is not initialized then it defaults to NULL value. The optional exception-handling part is used to handle run time errors. Only the executable part is required. A block can have a label. Package Packages are groups of conceptually linked functions, procedures, variables, PL/SQL table and record TYPE statements, constants, cursors etc. The use of packages promotes re-use of code. Packages are composed of the package specification and an optional package body. The specification is the interface to the application; it declares the types, variables, constants, exceptions, cursors, and subprograms available. The body fully defines cursors and subprograms, and so implements the specification. Two advantages of packages are: Modular approach, encapsulation/hiding of business logic, security, performance improvement, re-usability. They support object-oriented programming features like function overloading and encapsulation. Using package variables one can declare session level (scoped) variables, since variables declared in the package specification have a session scope.

PL/SQL Tutorial Part - 2

In Oracle database management, PL/SQL is a procedural language extension to Structured Query Language (SQL). The purpose of PL/SQL is to combine database language and procedural programming language. The basic difference between two languages is that SQL executes the single query at a time whereas, Pl/SQL executes the block of code at once. SQL is a Structured Query Language whereas, PL/SQL is a Procedural Language/ Structured Query Language.PL/SQL is an extension of Structured Query Language (SQL) that is used in Oracle. Unlike SQL, PL/SQL allows the programmer to write code in a procedural format. ... It combines the data manipulation power of SQL with the processing power of procedural language to create super powerful SQL queries. The PL/SQL is a procedural language that is an extension to the Oracle SQL or relational databases. ... In order to learn PL/SQL one should have basic knowledge of programming languages specifically be good on managing the SQL platform. In this tutorial, you'll learn how to use text to columns option in excel PL/SQL (Procedural Language/Structured Query Language) is Oracle Corporation's procedural extension for SQL and the Oracle relational database.

Learning PL/SQL at your own pace might sometimes become complicated. The main feature of SQL (non procedural) is also a drawback of SQL: one cannot use control statements (decision-making or iterative control) if only SQL is to be used. Be comfortable in your own body

10:34
People who spend lots of time sitting around (like us programmers) are often in at least a little bit of pain: lower back ache, neck strain, eye strain, swollen ankles....it's the price we pay for denying our evolutionary heritage. Just think: before civilization, when did humans sit still or stop moving? To eat and to sleep. Now many of us sit on our butts for 6-10 hours a day. Bad news! And when we feel bad, it's really hard to give an amazing presentation. So Steven offers some suggestions on how to help your body feel better so that you can present better. ====================================== Practically Perfect PL/SQL with Steven Feuerstein Copyright © 2015 Oracle and/or its affiliates. ALBERTO VILLOLDO: http://www.TheFourWinds.com By his mid-20s Alberto Villoldo was the youngest clinical professor at San Francisco State University. He was directing the Biological Self-Regulation Laboratory, investigating how energy medicine could change the chemistry of the brain. One day in his laboratory, Alberto realized that his research had to get bigger instead of smaller, that he was looking out of the wrong end of the microscope. He needed to find a system larger than the neural networks of the brain. Many others were already studying the hardware – Alberto wanted to learn to program the mind to create psychosomatic health Alberto traded his laboratory for a pair of hiking boots and a ticket to the Amazon – determined to learn from researchers whose vision had not been confined to the lens of a microscope, from people whose body of knowledge encompassed more than the measurable, material world that he had been taught was the ONLY reality. He wanted to meet the people who sensed the spaces between things and perceived the luminous strands that animate all life. Scattered throughout the Andes and Amazon were a number of sages or “Earth Keepers” who remembered the ancient ways. For more than 10 years, Alberto trained with the jungle medicine people. From the Amazon, Alberto trekked the coast of Peru, from Nazca, the site of gigantic markings on the desert floor that depict power animals and geometric figures, to the fabled Shimbe lagoons in the North, home to the country’s most renowned shamans. Then, in Lake Titicaca – the Sea on Top of the World – Alberto collected the stories and healing practices of the people from which, the legends say, the Inka were born. These ancient teachings explain that a Luminous Energy Field (LEF) surrounds us and acts as a matrix or blueprint that maintains the health and vibrancy of the physical body. Alberto is founder of the world-renowned Four Winds Society and of the Light Body School. In his teachings and writings, he shares the experience of infinity and its ability to heal and transform us, to free us from the temporal chains that keep us fettered to illness, old age and disease. Key Topics: • How did Dr. Villoldo end up leaving a cushy teaching job and heading for the Andes? • What was his calling? • What exactly is shamanism? • What is a luminous warrior? • What’s the sacred dream? • What’s it mean to wake up within it? • What’s the primordial light? • What are waking dreams? • What’s it mean to wake up? • How do we recognize we’re under the spell of a daydream? • How do we end our nightmares? • What does it mean we’re all made of primordial light? • How was the Incan Don Manuel Quispe? • What are the Laika and what do they see for the future? • What is our personal power? • What are the three nightmares? • How do we transform the nightmare of false security? • How do we transform the nightmare of death? • How do we transform the nightmare of unconditional love? • What does it mean we are not waiting for a child to be born but a personl to become like a god? • What’s it mean to kiss a glacier??? • What can we learn from Dr. Villoldo’s experience at Macchu Picchu?

https://www.quest.com/products/toad-for-oracle/ Creating unit tests for PL/SQL code is an important developer task that doesn’t often get done because it’s difficult and time consuming. As more companies try to bring database change management into DevOps, the absence of tests and a way to automate their execution becomes a major roadblock. Toad provides a really simple way to overcome that roadblock.

Impact of Food on Body and Mind | You become what you eat | Part1 - Swami Mukundananda

09:00
What we eat is what our body made of. Our mind is also made of it. Health is the basis of all other assets. Our possessions have meaning only if the our health is good. You cannot get good health by visiting the doctor or eating supplements. You create it by your habits, and can change it by changing habits. Today we don’t have shortage of food. Majority of people who visit doctors are people who have eaten too much, but they have eaten the wrong kind of food, in the wrong manner. Half of what we eat feeds us and the rest breeds diseases, feeds doctors and druggists. So we are veritably what we eat. We need to invest our time, energy and intellect in understanding 3 things: - What are the nutrients that our body needs. - What is the nutrition in the food that we eat. - What is the process of digestion and assimilation by which our body extracts and utilizes the nutrition in the food. Also, bio-cycle of the body corresponds to the movement of the sun. What is bio-cycle? Watch the entire clip. About Swami Mukundananda: Swami Mukundananda is a renowned spiritual leader, philosopher, visionary, author, and humanitarian.  He is the founder of the yogic system called “JKYog.”  Swamiji is a unique sanyasi (in the renounced order of life), with distinguished degrees in Engineering and Management from two world famous Institutes in India, IIT and IIM.  He is a senior disciple of Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj. ASMR Dreamy Sleep Hypnosis | Ear to Ear Binaural | Body Mind Relaxation | Affirmations & Count Down

24:54
In this video I will be help induce a deep state of relaxation for sleep by softly speaking, ear to ear whispering, gentle hand movements, face caressing, body and mind relaxation and ear to ear positive affirmations. Thanks so much for watching! Sweet dreams! Joanne xoxoxox If this is your first time watching a video like this and you're wondering what the heck this is all about...this is an ASMR video. If you want to learn more please read below as I try to explain this really bizarre "relaxation" phenomena :) What is ASMR? ASMR stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response and it refers to a phenomenon which is very difficult to explain to those who do not experience it. It is a relaxing tingling in the scalp and the back of the neck and can extend into the rest of the body triggered by certain sounds, or visuals. People who create videos that help induce this relaxing tingling sensation are called ASMRtists. They create videos in the form of roleplays, personal attention videos, or simply just talking to the viewer, ear to ear in a whispered or soft spoken word, about random things to help trigger this tingly sensation for their relaxation. ASMR videos are used by many people to help them fall asleep, to help ride out an anxiety attack, or to just simply just help one relax. ASMR has only been coined since 2010 and is now being researched to help validate its wonderful benefits. ASMR is an interesting wonder and if you want to learn more about it, check out the links below. If you're new to ASMR...be sure to wear your earphones as it provides the best audio experience for this type of relaxation :-) https://asmruniversity.com/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autonomous_sensory_meridian_response I love making videos for you and I appreciate you all very much.
