PL/SQL tutorial : Trigger in Oracle Database 11g Complete guide

26:21
Learn in depth about trigger in oracle database 11g, and usage of trigger in Database, different types of trigger with syntax for various events along with writing advance trigger and capturing all details regarding authentication. Explained Instead of trigger. Trigger in Oracle, Trigger in PL/SQL, Oracle Trigger, PL/SQL Trigger, What is Trigger in pl/sql, How to use Trigger in pl/sql, How to write a Trigger in oracle, How to design Trigger in pl/sql, DDL trigger, DML trigger, Instead of trigger, Compound trigger, Logon trigger, Introduction to Triggers You can write triggers that fire whenever one of the following operations occurs: DML statements (INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE) on a particular table or view, issued by any user DDL statements (CREATE or ALTER primarily) issued either by a particular schema/user or by any schema/user in the database Database events, such as logon/logoff, errors, or startup/shutdown, also issued either by a particular schema/user or by any schema/user in the database Triggers are similar to stored procedures. A trigger stored in the database can include SQL and PL/SQL or Java statements to run as a unit and can invoke stored procedures. However, procedures and triggers differ in the way that they are invoked. A procedure is explicitly run by a user, application, or trigger. Triggers are implicitly fired by Oracle when a triggering event occurs, no matter which user is connected or which application is being used. How Triggers Are Used Triggers supplement the standard capabilities of Oracle to provide a highly customized database management system. For example, a trigger can restrict DML operations against a table to those issued during regular business hours. You can also use triggers to: Automatically generate derived column values Prevent invalid transactions Enforce complex security authorizations Enforce referential integrity across nodes in a distributed database Enforce complex business rules Provide transparent event logging Provide auditing Maintain synchronous table replicates Gather statistics on table access Modify table data when DML statements are issued against views Publish information about database events, user events, and SQL statements to subscribing applications Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/aditya-kumar-roy-b3673368/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/SpecializeAutomation/

Check out http://www.pgconf.us/2015/event/97/ for the full talk details. In this talk I'm going to touch different techniques and tools for managing changes inside PostgreSQL databases, including schema deployments, data changes and usage of stored procedures as a versioned API layer. Based on my experience of no-downtime deployments at Zalando SE, one of the biggest European fashion retailers, I'm going to highlight different approaches to database deployments and introduce some open-source tools used and developed by the Database Team at Zalando. About the Speaker Alexey started with PostgreSQL at 2003 as a C programmer. He learned how to debug the backend code before learning SQL, but caught up on the latter pretty quickly. He is now using both of those skills and years of experience as a database consultant to help his employer manage a growing number of PostgreSQL database clusters and deal with hundreds of database changes during weekly deployments. A native of Simferopol, Ukraine, he lives in Berlin and works as a Database Engineer at Zalando SE. Over the years, he contributed code and documentation to the PostgreSQL project.

DDL Triggers in sql server

12:31
ddl trigger example ddl trigger example in sql server ddl triggers can be used to In this video we will discuss DDL Triggers in sql server. In SQL Server there are 4 types of triggers 1. DML Triggers - Data Manipulation Language. Discussed in Parts 43 to 47 of SQL Server Tutorial. 2. DDL Triggers - Data Definition Language 3. CLR triggers - Common Language Runtime 4. Logon triggers What are DDL triggers DDL triggers fire in response to DDL events - CREATE, ALTER, and DROP (Table, Function, Index, Stored Procedure etc...). For the list of all DDL events please visit https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb522542.aspx Certain system stored procedures that perform DDL-like operations can also fire DDL triggers. Example - sp_rename system stored procedure What is the use of DDL triggers If you want to execute some code in response to a specific DDL event To prevent certain changes to your database schema Audit the changes that the users are making to the database structure Syntax for creating DDL trigger CREATE TRIGGER [Trigger_Name] ON [Scope (Server|Database)] FOR [EventType1, EventType2, EventType3, ...], AS BEGIN -- Trigger Body END DDL triggers scope : DDL triggers can be created in a specific database or at the server level. The following trigger will fire in response to CREATE_TABLE DDL event. Use SampleDB Go CREATE TRIGGER trMyFirstTrigger ON Database FOR CREATE_TABLE AS BEGIN Print 'New table created' END To check if the trigger has been created 1. In the Object Explorer window, expand the SampleDB database by clicking on the plus symbol. 2. Expand Programmability folder 3. Expand Database Triggers folder Please note : If you can't find the trigger that you just created, make sure to refresh the Database Triggers folder. When you execute the following code to create the table, the trigger will automatically fire and will print the message - New table created Create Table Test (Id int) The above trigger will be fired only for one DDL event CREATE_TABLE. If you want this trigger to be fired for multiple events, for example when you alter or drop a table, then separate the events using a comma as shown below. ALTER TRIGGER trMyFirstTrigger ON Database FOR CREATE_TABLE, ALTER_TABLE, DROP_TABLE AS BEGIN Print 'A table has just been created, modified or deleted' END Now if you create, alter or drop a table, the trigger will fire automatically and you will get the message - A table has just been created, modified or deleted. The 2 DDL triggers above execute some code in response to DDL events (CREATE_TABLE, ALTER_TABLE, DROP_TABLE). Now let us look at an example of how to prevent users from creating, altering or dropping tables. To do this modify the trigger as shown below. ALTER TRIGGER trMyFirstTrigger ON Database FOR CREATE_TABLE, ALTER_TABLE, DROP_TABLE AS BEGIN Rollback Print 'You cannot create, alter or drop a table' END To be able to create, alter or drop a table, you either have to disable or delete the trigger. To disable trigger 1. Right click on the trigger in object explorer and select "Disable" from the context menu 2. You can also disable the trigger using the following T-SQL command DISABLE TRIGGER trMyFirstTrigger ON DATABASE To enable trigger 1. Right click on the trigger in object explorer and select "Enable" from the context menu 2. You can also enable the trigger using the following T-SQL command ENABLE TRIGGER trMyFirstTrigger ON DATABASE To drop trigger 1. Right click on the trigger in object explorer and select "Delete" from the context menu 2. You can also drop the trigger using the following T-SQL command DROP TRIGGER trMyFirstTrigger ON DATABASE Certain system stored procedures that perform DDL-like operations can also fire DDL triggers. The following trigger will be fired when ever you rename a database object using sp_rename system stored procedure. CREATE TRIGGER trRenameTable ON DATABASE FOR RENAME AS BEGIN Print 'You just renamed something' END The following code changes the name of the TestTable to NewTestTable. When this code is executed, it will fire the trigger trRenameTable sp_rename 'TestTable', 'NewTestTable' The following code changes the name of the Id column in NewTestTable to NewId. When this code is executed, it will fire the trigger trRenameTable sp_rename 'NewTestTable.Id' , 'NewId', 'column' Text version of the video http://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/2015/09/ddl-triggers-in-sql-server.html Slides http://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/2015/09/ddl-triggers-in-sql-server_9.html All SQL Server Text Articles http://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/p/free-sql-server-video-tutorials-for.html All SQL Server Slides http://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/p/sql-server.html All Dot Net and SQL Server Tutorials in English https://www.youtube.com/user/kudvenkat/playlists?view=1&sort=dd All Dot Net and SQL Server Tutorials in Arabic https://www.youtube.com/c/KudvenkatArabic/playlists

Real Microservices with Java EE @elderjava

09:34
Elder Moraes, Cloud Evangelist, Oracle, @elderjava What about Java EE? Is it possible to build the Microservice, a real Microservice, with Java EE? Think about JPA and database and so on. We have here an entity that is a player, and we have also another entity that is our player rank. Another entity that's related to our player, we have here the relation with the player. This will be important when we are breaking down into microservice. And we also have our Beans that will make the manipulation of the data with player, as with them also with JPA. we can save player, remove player, find by ID, find all. And we have the same for rank. We have here another stateless beans that we also save, remove, find by ID and find all. And here we build some service. Some 90-point service, rest endpoint service for actually, find by ID, add, new, save, remove. The same stuff that we've done with the stateless service. Alright? And here we have, for our player rank, okay? , what I've done here for our monolith, is I've wrote several J unit, that's here we can try if those stuff are working. , we can try it right now. It will use, basically, the same stuff that we've done before in this service with JPA, where we've created a test for running our JPA access through database, and try all those methods used for JPA. Okay, it's built. running system successfully, this is our monolith doing with Java EE. , how do we now can take those monoliths and break it down? Choose microservice because you have here the player and the player rank. Let's split this monolith in two process, in two projects, in two artifacts. we can have microservice here. first of all, we have just split it in two projects. Basically have the same files I keep, here on this project on the microservice player. And we have in the specific case of the player, we didn't have any change at all, except for there is no rank in the project. if we have here, the Bean is always the same Bean, and if we have here the service, the endpoint is also the same. It didn't change at all. The project for player didn't change much. For the rank, we have some changes, because as I said before, there was a relation between the rank and the player. , what I've done here, as we don't have a player anymore inside the project, and when we are doing microservice we usually, and this is the best practice, that each service has it's own database. , in this case, we are changing the player relationship for just player ID. we have changed it here for a long standard, specifically player object. We are just storing the player ID in the database for rank, and then it will opt to the application to the other relationship, or if you have some reports to take after that, it will be up to the reports to do that relationship. Their logical relationship, because each data, each microservice has to hold its own database. that's why we change it here. And that's what, basically, the most changes, when you have the endpoint service, didn't change that much. Well, just splitting the project into two pieces isn't enough. That's not enough to have the real microservice. One approach that we use here is called API Gateway. , we just built a gateway to deal with those both microservice. we have here a player gateway that will hold the communication between your client, it can be a mobile client, a web client, a desktop client, whatever client you have. The gateway will be inside, the middle of communication, between your microservice and your client. Here we have another endpoint that we'll build a client, a web client, web target. And just point them to your microservice player and here communicate with the same endpoints that we have on the microservice player. The endpoint for there. , find by ID, find all, player service for, save and for removing. Here we have the possibility to have all the reception dealing, all the specific activity or management that you need to have for the microservice, you can do on this gateway. And we have, also, an endpoint gateway for your rank. The same way we done on the player. , we have here building a client, and here doing the communication with your endpoint that is in the microservice. The good part from the gateway is that you can use it, for example, if you do your microservice change, the place, the address, or change technology, to change parts, to change anything that the contract between the APIs. You can keep your gateways two and touch it for your client's perspective, but your microservice perspective, you can change a lot and without breaking any relationship with your clients. You can also even, change your technology. If you are using Java, and you're going to use Bidal, or you're going to use anything, you can use the gateway to decrease the break that could cause you to lose clients. , it's very good. It's one approach, but it's what we use here. https://developer.oracle.com/ https://cloud.oracle.com/en_US/tryit

Oracle in Focus: Cloud, Infrastructure, Database and Platform (CXOTalk #261)

47:47
What is Oracle and where do its software, database, and cloud products stand today in relation to cloud technology and big data? Three prominent analysts – Mike Fauscette, chief research officer at G2 Crowd; Liz Forrester, vice president and primary analyst at Forrester; and Neil Ward-Dutton, co-founder and research director at MDW Advisors – talk with CXOTalk to place Oracle in focus. For more information see, https://www.cxotalk.com/episode/oracle-focus-industry-analysts-view Fauscette is the chief research officer at G2 Crowd, a platform and community where people can connect and share experiences about business software. Fauscette previously spent ten years as an executive and senior analyst at technology market research firm IDC, where he led worldwide business software research. He is also a published author, blogger, photographer and accomplished public speaker on emerging trends in business software, business modernization and customer experience strategies. Herbert focuses on the technology services industry, helping clients navigate this fast-changing market and maximize the business value of their technology investments. As a principal analyst, she helps clients understand the key dynamics in the enterprise application services market and make smart technology sourcing decisions. Specific topics of focus include SaaS, SAP and Oracle Services, and services for cloud and mobile. She also advises technology and technology services vendors on market dynamics, buyer demands, competitive landscape, and go-to-market. Ward-Dutton is MWD Advisors' co-founder and Research Director, and is one of Europe’s most experienced and high-profile IT industry analysts. His areas of expertise include business process management (BPM), enterprise architecture (EA), Cloud computing and digital strategy. He also acts as an advisor to large organizations across a range of sectors and industries, including leading technology vendors. From the transcript: What are you seeing in the market with respect to Oracle today? Liz Herbert: (00:05:52) Sure. One of the things we've seen is that, like you said, they're one of the largest technology suppliers out there, and sometimes that means they're not the fastest. They don't necessarily take risks the way that some smaller and more startup-type companies do. For example, it's well known that Oracle was a bit late to the overall cloud competition that we see looming large in today's applications market, as well as platforms and infrastructure. (00:06:17) That said, when they invest, they go big. One of the things that's been notable about Oracle is that, where they're jumping into a new area of customer demand, they're able to put a significant amount of investment behind it. In fact, there's something very unique about the company, which we haven't really talked much about yet, but because Larry Ellison owns such a substantial part of the overall company, they're able to take decisions in a way that many other public companies of their size would not be able to. Neil Ward-Dutton: (00:08:45) Now on the platform side of things, fundamentally, my view is that Oracle's strategy is kind of defensive, but that's not necessarily a bad thing, nor is it surprising. Its position and its strategy is fundamentally about realizing that the center of gravity for the foreseeable future for new investments is going to be cloud. It's all about being there when customers want them to be there, to kind of minimize opportunities for customers to go anywhere else, to make sure that they always have something that they can offer customers when customers go to town and want to do things. Mike Fauscette: (00:21:48) I think it's an interesting point to say that customers and business, in general, change. We know, and you hear people talk about digital transformation. We think about platforms, and we think about this new way technology plays in business. It's much more into a competitive differentiator, a competitive advantage. It's something that companies that jump ahead can really leapfrog competition by using technology and people in the right sort of combinations. (00:22:22) Fundamentally, the way that companies think of what they want from the technology has started to shift. Now there's the conservative middle that'll follow that isn't out on the edge yet. You think about companies like Oracle, Salesforce, and others that have to be able to work in that environment. They have a business they have to maintain and, at the same time, they want to start to help those customers shift, move in the directions, and have the things available that can help them do that.

BluePrism - Global Send Keys || Reality & Useful

28:33
Hi Friends, Now we will discuss about Global Send Keys ---------------------------------------------------------------- Suppose I am working on MS word document, But I want to scroll the page and use page down what to do? Can I achieve these type of operations using process or business object in BluePrism? Means, the key strokes control through bot? ---------------------------------------------------------------- Yes, we can. what ever the operations we are doing manually with keyboard, we can achieve using bot. Using the Global Send Keys option in Navigate Stage. ---------------------------------------------------------------- I am taking different examples Suppose I want to type text into notepad. 1. I opend the business object, configure the notepad with BO in Application Modeller. For this I am creating the notepad in downloads folder. 2. Launch the notepad using Nagivate Stage. 3. Now use Global Send Keys to type text into that It has one parameter is Text - We need to pass what text to type or what command to enter If you are typing the text then simply write your text in double quotes 4. Link the stages and run it. I linked the notepad.exe path to open new one. let's run it If I put the cursor somewhere the typing won't work. Now we are typing text into notepad. let's save the file. manually how we are saving the file either go to file and save or save as option and enter filename and location and click on save. Or use short cut for save is ctrl+s and choose location and enter filename and click on save button we will go short cut way using Global send keys. 5. Use nagivate stage and pass the ctrl+s control Here we have different ways to pass key strokes. The key stores are mentioned within flower brakets. Now what we need is ctrl key stroke and s letter key stroke. see the commands how we will pass it For ctrl we need to use ^ symbol For letter S we need to use same S with in double quotes I am pass the command "{^S}" Let's run and check it Sorry, my mistake, use the combination with in double quote. brakets not required. "^s" 6. Now we need to type the filename including the path It is typing the filename with path, Now what I need to do is either click on save button or click enter key. But clicking on save button not possible, because we didn't spy the save button. Then use Enter key command using Global Send keys "{ENTER}" Let's check is it saved or not. I got the file with typed text. Thank you for watching video

Simple Oracle BPM Business Rule Step by Step

22:57
This is a step-by-step video that shows how to create a simple credit background check business rule using Oracle BPM JDeveloper from scratch. It has no sound or annotations, so if you have a question about what I did in the video include the minute and second you're referring to. This is where you can download the completed Oracle BPM (version 12.2.1.1) project with the business rule and the two XSDs from my earlier thread - http://tinyurl.com/haoksxg. If you want to do this on your own, you can just copy the two XSDs (ruleInput.xsd and ruleOutput.xsd) from this project's ..\BackgroundCheck\BackgroundCheckRule\SOA\Schemas directory.
