Journey to the Edge of the Universe (Sean Pertwee) - Full HD 1080p

01:29:51
National Geographic presents the first accurate non-stop voyage from Earth to the edge of the Universe using a single, unbroken shot through the use of spectacular CGI (Computer-Generated Imagery) technology. Building on images taken from the Hubble telescope, Journey to the Edge of the Universe explores the science and history behind the distant celestial bodies in the solar system. This spectacular, epic voyage across the cosmos, takes us from the Earth, past the Moon and our neighboring planets, out of our Solar System, to the nearest stars, nebulae and galaxies and beyond - right to the edge of the Universe itself. When you finish this video, you will walk away from it with an awareness that you never had before, of the unseen astronomically massive universe that we float around on like a spec of dust in the ocean. This video takes you on a journey through the universe as if you are watching a Sci Fi adventure. Yet you constantly have to remind yourself that what you're seeing is really out there.

10 Essential Travel Packing Tips & Hacks - Minimalist Traveling

How to Pack Light & Smart - Essential Travel Packing Tips for Minimalist Traveling. Audible is offering our followers a free 30-day trial today. Sign up to check out their audio books using our special link: http://www.audible.com/exploringalternatives Want more travel packing tips? Check out this NEW video we made for extra light minimalist travel: https://youtu.be/-PcrLWkxZSk After almost 5 years of travelling, we've come up with our 10 best travel packing tips to help you travel light, save money, and have an easy and comfortable trip. 1. Minimalist Travel Wardrobe We choose clothes that are all in the same colour scheme and style so they can be layered to create different outfits for different situations and climates. In our experience, packing fewer clothes is always best and if you find that you're missing something, like a warmer sweater, you can always pick it up along the way. 2. Water After buying and throwing out countless plastic water bottles on our travels, we finally said enough is enough. It was a waste of money and plastic. So we decided to get a portable water purifier (SteriPEN sent us one) and now we bring our own stainless steel water bottles with us and we purify tap water wherever we are. 3. Books and Guides Books and guides are easily the heaviest things we carry on trips. To downsize the weight in our backpack or suitcase, we try to bring smaller travel journals, we don't bring guide books (we use our iPod and free maps from airports and train stations to get around), and we're starting to try eBooks (free from the library) and audio books from Audible (our video sponsor!). 4. Staying Clean When travelling, there are many times (for us at least) when we don't shower as often as we'd like, maybe a long 48 hour travel leg, or a nasty hostel shower that we don't want to use. To stay fresh between showers, we use dry shampoo (the one in the video is from One Love Organics) and wet wipes (paraben-free). We also always travel with Dr Bronners soap because we can use it for everything: showering, dishes, and laundry. 5. Souvenirs We no longer buy souvenirs for our friends and family. Instead, we try to send postcards to show people we're thinking of them. It's cheaper, less wasteful, and we feel that it's more meaningful overall. 6. Passports We've had a passport stolen, and another damaged by water. We're not messing around with our passports anymore so we carry them in ziplock bags, inside a hidden passport pouch. 7. Food and Snacks Food and snacks at airports and in touristy areas is usually overpriced and not necessarily healthy. We try to pack our own food and snacks as much as possible (sandwiches, granola bars, hummus and crackers, oatmeal, roasted nuts, etc.) but it's important to check the rules about what you can bring and where. 8. Electronics When we're not travelling for work, we try to bring just our iPod touch. We travelled for almost one full year with just the iPod & free wifi, and we did all of our hotel and flight bookings, and even a couple of visa applications on the tiny screen. It's not perfect, but it saves us from lugging around a couple of laptops like we do now. We also always travel with a flashlight. We have a Foxelli headlamp that is USB rechargeable and the battery lasts forever (they sent us the headlamp a couple of years ago and we love it). 9. Reusables Travel has a pretty big environmental footprint and while we haven't quite gotten to the point where we're willing to stop just for environmental reasons, we do try to minimize flying and we travel with reusable containers to limit the amount of garbage waste we're producing. We bring stainless steel food containers (by Onyx), water bottles, and coffee mugs, as well as cloth bags and cutlery. 10. Staying Healthy We use natural remedies like oregano oil, garlic pills, activated charcoal, and essential oils to treat things like food poisoning, cold and flu, diarrhea, headaches, etc. We also bring strong anti-nausea pills because Danielle gets motion sick in cars, planes, buses — even a hammock once! New Zealand: The Ultimate Travel Guide by TourRadar 5/5

11:37
New Zealand: The Ultimate Travel Guide by TourRadar gives you all the info you need to explore this nation of Kiwis. Learn some basics about the country, including what you have to do & see once you arrive, when it's best to travel and which food & drinks you definitely need to enjoy throughout your journey. ----------------------------------------------- New Zealand has a lot to offer even the most particular traveller. From the lively neighbourhoods of Wellington to the breathtaking Fiordland of the South Island, there's an adventure tucked away in every corner of this impressive country. Consider living out your own Lord of the Rings adventure in Hobbiton, or hike past Mt. Doom in Tongariro National Park. Not thrilling enough? Then skydive over Auckland, go white water rafting down Kaituna River or take a leap of faith and bungee jump in Queenstown! When you're in New Zealand, nearly ever adventure is only a stone's throw away. Make the most out of your visit to this remote island nation by assembling your bucket list with our travel guide. Booking a tour will ensure your trip is fun, flawless and stress-free: http://www.tourradar.com/d/new-zealand New Zealand boasts a temperate climate with plenty of sunshine and moderate rainfall. Because of the long coast line, you can expect mild temperatures for the most part. The average temperature decreases as you travel south; January and February are the warmest months with July being the coldest month of the year. Remember to pack your waterproof hiking boots, waterproof rain jacket, swimsuit, flip flops, thin gloves, hiking socks, sunglasses, and a camera with extra batteries. New Zealand's currency is the New Zealand Dollar (NZ$). You should expect to be able to switch between cash and cards quite seamlessly, as all major credit cards can be used in New Zealand. Alcohol and restaurant meals can range from moderate to quite expensive so prepare yourself accordingly. We'd like to thank New Zealand's incredible tourism board for allowing use of their travel footage: http://www.newzealand.com/ ---About New Zealand--- New Zealand, exists on a remote island in the Pacific Ocean and is home to over 4.6 million people, and nearly 30 million sheep. The country is divided into two portions: the North and South Islands separated by the Cook Strait. The North Island is home to many hot springs and geysers while the South Island is mountainous, forested and covered in glaciers. Over 75% of New Zealanders call the North Island home, and more than 15% of New Zealand's energy comes from renewable resources. 🤟 Find your tour through New Zealand: https://www.tourradar.com/d/New-Zealand?utm_source=Youtube&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=New+Zealand:+The+Ultimate+Travel+Guide+by+TourRadar+5+5+ST1809-New+Zealand&utm_content=YT+Description ℹ️ Learn more about New Zealand: https://www.tourradar.com/travel-guide/New-Zealand?utm_source=Youtube&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=New+Zealand:+The+Ultimate+Travel+Guide+by+TourRadar+5+5+ST1809-New+Zealand&utm_content=YT+Description 🎬 Watch another video: "7 Things To Do in Sri Lanka": https://youtu.be/u3ZarK9wigk 📚 Visit us on Days to Come: "7 Unnatural, Natural Sights of New Zealand": https://www.tourradar.com/days-to-come/natural-sights-of-new-zealand/?utm_source=Youtube&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=New+Zealand:+The+Ultimate+Travel+Guide+by+TourRadar+5+5+ST1809-New+Zealand&utm_content=YT+Description ✌️ Subscribe for more travel tips & inspiration: https://www.youtube.com/user/tourradar?sub_confirmation=1 🌍 #gotouring with TourRadar: https://www.tourradar.com ----------------------------------------------- 👫 Let’s get social! 7 Air Travel Tips to Know Before Your Flight

03:28
Many people who travel by airplanes don’t know about all of their peculiarities. These 7 amazing and simple tips will make you feel better and more comfortable during your flight. TIMESTAMPS The seats by the window are colder 0:21 Avoid drinking coffee or tea 0:49 Tables and seat pockets are the dirtiest places on the plane 1:12 Morning is the best time for a flight 1:44 The service is better in the final rows 2:06 Don’t inflate your neck cushion to full volume 2:33 Always go with a special menu 2:49 SUMMARY - The temperature outside the cabin can fall to as low as −140°F to −149°С, which cools down the temperature of the plane’s fuselage. You can feel this external cold above all in the seats by the windows, especially during summer when you wear light clothing. - Keep in mind: the drinking water used to prepare hot beverages onboard can contain malignant bacteria such as E. coli and Staphylococcus aureus. Specialists who have tested the water on various airlines have reached this conclusion on more than one occasion. - Pockets on the seat back in front of you are sometimes full of trash accumulated during flights. Yep, they aren’t cleaned as thoroughly as you would expect. When it comes to the tray tables, it’s even worse! - Later flights are usually delayed because of the ‘ripple’ effects of delays throughout the day. Moreover, if you have a fear of flying, specialists claim that a degree of turbulence is reduced in the morning. - If you sit in the first rows, you will be the first to leave the plane at the end of the flight as well as get a choice of meal. On the other hand, if you pick a seat closer to the back of the cabin, you’ll more attentive service from the cabin crew! - When you take a blow-up pillow onto the plane, don’t forget about the laws of physics! If you fill it with air completely, it might burst due to the changes in pressure in the cabin! - Airlines offer a choice of different in-flight meals such as vegetarian, seafood, halal, kosher, and many others. Even if you have no particular preference, many travelers recommend going for one of the specialist meal choices. Do you have a lot of friends who travel often? Share this video with them – they’ll definitely find it useful! Canada: The Ultimate Travel Guide by TourRadar 4/5

10:52
Canada: The Ultimate Travel Guide by TourRadar gives you all the info you need to explore this Northern nation like a pro. Learn some basics about the country, including what you have to do & see once you arrive, when it's best to travel and which food & drinks you definitely need to enjoy throughout your journey. ----------------------------------------------- Canada is a stunning destination that provides travellers an endless natural playground to get lost in. From the incredible mountain ranges of British Columbia to the coves and cliffs of Canada's East Coast (and everywhere in between), the True North strong and free has it all. The country is made up of 10 provinces and 3 territories, each with their own unique cultural backgrounds, adventurous activities and impressive landscapes. Consider booking a tour that focuses on a specific region so that you can experience it thoroughly - the country is huge, making it unlikely to able to enjoy everything if you rush across the country in a single trip. Remember to pack clothes appropriate for the province or territory you’re visiting. Depending on the season you travel, pack everything from your swimsuit to your parka. You can exchange your money into Canadian dollars in any major city, at airports or at the countless ATMs located throughout the country. Credit card and debit transactions are incredibly common, so in most case you will have no trouble using them in lieu of cash. Dining out doesn’t have to be expensive if you visit the right restaurants, and you'll have to cross off the classics like poutine, sugar pie and craft beer! We'd like to thank a few of Canada's incredible tourism boards for allowing use of their travel footage: https://www.destinationcanada.com https://www.travelalberta.com http://www.destinationbc.ca/ https://www.quebecoriginal.com — About Canada — Canada's 10 provinces are Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland & Labrador, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia. World's Most Beautiful Railway - The Bernina Express

10:01
Shortly after the construction of the Gotthard tunnel, Switzerland pulled off another pioneering achievement: the construction of the Thusis - St. Moritz railway line between 1899 and 1903. This opened the Upper Engadine to tourists. The Rhaetian Railway still passes over the same bridges and through the same loop tunnels. A still greater challenge was the subsequent construction of the Bernina Railway. No other railway in the world overcomes such steep gradients and winds through such steep curves without the help of a cogwheel. Which is the best ticket to book? One-way, round trip and multi tickets explained - FAQ Fridays

This week on FAQ Friday which is the best ticket to book? One-way, round trip or multi tickets. Post your questions in the comments below if you would like them answered by our in-house expert, Nick Paul. Connect with Travelstart: Website: https://www.travelstart.com Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Travelstart Twitter: https://twitter.com/Travelstart Our Blog: http://www.travelstart.co.za/blog/which-is-the-best-flight-tickets-to-book/ For more FAQ Fridays visit: http://www.travelstart.co.za/blog/category/faq-fridays/ Video produced by Liam Kelly Contact: [email protected] Video presented by Nick Paul Contact: [email protected] Video Transcription Welcome to another edition of Traveltart's FAQ Fridays with me, Nick Paul. For the past few weeks we've been answering your frequently asked travel questions in these videos. Thanks so much for sending them in, keep them coming! Who knows, we may make them into a video next week. We were asked a question this week about whether it's cheaper to buy 2 one way tickets or a round trip ticket and thought this was a good opportunity to explain these two concepts as well as that of multi-city tickets. First of all, let's define these terms: One-way tickets refer to a journey which starts in one place, and goes to a destination but doesn't include a return journey. E.g. Joburg to London, either direct or via another city. Round trip tickets refer to journey which go to a destination and return from that destination back home again. E.g. Joburg to London and back, either direct or via another city. Multi-city tickets refer to a journey which is broken for longer than 24 hours in more than one point on the trip. E.g. Joburg to London via Dubai with 3 days in Dubai and a week in London. To understand how this all works, we must start with round trip tickets: A round trip ticket (also known as a return ticket) may look like it's made of 2 one-way tickets, for example: Cape Town to Joburg and back again contains 2 flights, one for the way there, and one for the way back. Are these not just 2 one way tickets? For local flights within South Africa, you'd be right, these are in fact made up of 2 one-way tickets. It's for this reason that Travelstart's website is able to mix and match different airlines in each direction to get you a cheaper deal. This rule doesn't apply to international flights though; here flight prices are usually worked out as full round trip tickets and one-way tickets are usually worked out as 75% of a round trip fare and a relevant portion of the taxes. So quitting your job to buy a one-way ticket to Thailand and buying the one-way ticket back "when you feel like returning from paradise", might not work out very cheaply. That, and immigration officials will not let you into the country without proof that you're leaving within the allotted time. This rule is even truer for flights on certain airlines like KLM and Lufthansa, and especially for flights to destinations in North America, where many airlines don't do one way tickets at all. In fact if you try and buy a one way ticket here you'll end up paying more than for a round trip ticket. And weirder still, if you travel only to your destination and try to apply for a refund for the return portion of your ticket, the airline may try and charge you for the difference between a round trip ticket and a one way ticket! So, let's touch quickly on multi-city tickets. Multi-city tickets often work out cheaper than making multiple round trip journeys to different destinations. However, with each break in the journey the airline may charge you a fee, also the country in question may charge you extra security or passenger duties. This is most evident on flight tickets via the UK, where a break in the journey in London adds a minimum of around R1500 to the ticket price. But, if you're travelling on a flight like that, it's certainly cheaper to break the journey than to make another separate trip to the city. So that's it from me this week on FAQ Fridays. If you have any travel-related questions please ask them in the comments below and we may make a video about them. Voyager Journey to the Stars

24:04
Cosmic Journeys examines the great promise of the Voyager mission and where it will lead us in our grand ambition to move out beyond our home planet. The two Voyager spacecraft are part of an ancient quest to push beyond our boundaries... to see what lies beyond the horizon. Now tens of billions of kilometers from Earth, two spacecraft are streaking out into the void. What will we learn about the Galaxy, the Universe, and ourselves from Voyager's epic Journey to the stars? December 19, 1972... the splashdown of the Apollo 17 crew capsule marked the end of the golden age of manned spaceflight. The Mercury.... Gemini... and Apollo programs had proven that we could send people into space... To orbit the Earth.... Fly out beyond our planet... Then land on the moon and walk among its ancient crater. The collective will to send people beyond our planet faded in times of economic uncertainty, war, and shifting priorities. And yet, just five years after Apollo ended, scientists launched a new vision that was just as profound and even more far-reaching. It didn't all go smoothly. Early computer problems threatened to doom Voyager 2. Then its radio receiver failed, forcing engineers to use a back up. Now, after more than three and a half decades of successful operations, the twin spacecraft are sending back information on their flight into interstellar space. Along the way, they have revealed a solar system rich beyond our imagining. The journey was made possible by a rare alignment of the planets, a configuration that occurs only once every 176 years. That enabled the craft to go from planet to planet, accelerating as they entered the gravitational field of one, then flying out to the next. The Voyagers carried a battery of scientific equipment to collect data on the unknown worlds in their path. That included a pair of vidicom cameras, and a data transfer rate slower than a dialup modem.

This island off the coast of India has long been on my bucket-list for loads of reasons, like having the best safari outside of Africa, boasting eight UNESCO World Heritage sites to explore, and lots of lovely, gorgeous beaches complete with idyllic white sand and crystal clear water that's perfect for surfing. In fact, for an island about a ¼ of the size of the UK, there's loads to see and do, depending,  of course, on what you want out of your trip. Coming up, I'm going to tell you about getting here, some tips on transport, then some stuff on food, money and language and some awesome places to visit. So, let's get on with it… We flew 10 hours direct from Heathrow to Colombo, which is Sri Lanka’s capital city. Flights arrive at Bandaranaike International airport, which is 30km north of the city. Taxis are very cheap in Sri Lanka, and this can be the easiest, and certainly quickest way to reach your destination from the airport. If you’re heading straight into Colombo you can catch the express bus which takes about 25 minutes, but to be honest the taxis are so cheap it’s a no-brainer. To enter the country, you’re gonna need a visa. Now this can be done when you get here, but, after ten hours in the air ..why bother with the extra admin!? Get it done before you leave. Applications cost $35 and take around 24 hours to process. Also, you’re gonna need to make sure that your vaccinations are up to date, like your tetanus and typhoid. Check with your GP beforehand. What do you need to know about public transport in Sri Lanka? Well, in all honesty, quite a bit… Public transport conditions aren't great, but are popular with locals as it's very cheap. Buses tend to leave when they’re full, so for anyone on a schedule we’d give them a miss. Also, trains are often slower and less efficient than simply getting a taxi. My advice: take anything described as luxury or express with a generous pinch of salt. The key thing in Sri Lanka is that your money goes a long way, for example our two-hour taxi  from Colombo to Unawatuna cost 9000 rupees, which is about 40 quid, so for this reason we made the most of getting around with private car hire and tuk-tuks. Hiring a driver to chauffeur you around is surprisingly affordable and, let's face it, way more luxurious! It's also a big timesaver which is a massive a bonus. The roads are in surprisingly good condition... ...just watch out for the tourists, the cyclists, the buffalo, stray dogs, and massive lizards they all make it a little hair-raising at times. We used Uber to navigate Colombo and Red Cabs for everywhere else. Failing that you could always haggle for a tuk tuk, which are ideal for quick journeys. There are a couple of things you need to know before you start off. Number 1 always agree the price before settings off and number 2 be direct about where you want to go, don’t settle for any detours or any other places they might want to take you. Anyway, up next, here are some of my favourite things to do in Sri Lanka. Unawatuna is loved by locals and tourists alike, and with palm trees, white sands and blue waters, it's easy to see why it’s one of Sri Lanka’s most popular beaches. Right behind the beach is a small shopping strip for souvenirs and restaurants... … And Ladies, going topless on the beach is a definite no-no, and if you're a couple, make the P in PDA stand for PRIVATE, not PUBLIC. OK, Newsflash!!! Sri Lanka has the best safari outside of Africa since the country has one of the highest rates of indigenous plants and animals in the world. Udawalawe National Park is a personal highlight of mine and home to some 200 different species.
Iceland Vacation Travel Guide | Expedia

14:07
With a population of only 300,000, Iceland can feel like the most isolated place on earth, yet its capital Reykjavik, is only a three-hour flight from London and just under six from New York. Reykjavik is relaxed and welcoming, yet possesses a cultural life that holds its own against other European capitals. Most buildings are built simple and low to beat the North Atlantic winds. However, the city is also graced with grand civic architecture inspired by Iceland’s natural beauty, such as the soaring central tower of Hallgrímskirkja. Many of the country’s most popular sights are within easy reach of Reykjavík. Immerse yourself in the spirit of Iceland, at the Blue Lagoon. Then spend a day or two in The Golden Circle, an area which encompasses three of Iceland’s greatest natural wonders; Thingvellir National Park, the Geysir Geothermal Field, and Gullfoss. Iceland’s main ring road strings together an endless series of epic landscapes. Less than two hours drive east of Reykjavik are two of the world’s most beautiful waterfalls, Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss. Continue eastward towards Vík, Iceland’s southern-most village, where you’ll find the dramatic landscapes of Black Beach, Reynisdrangar, and Dyrholaey. Follow the ring road for another two hours into the ethereal light of Jökulsárlón Lake, where icebergs break away from Europe’s largest glacier and float for years before tumbling out to sea. Head north and feel the earth rumble at Europe’s mightiest waterfall, Dettifoss. Then explore the Myvatn region, a tranquil lake surrounded by nature in all its violent beauty. Take a careful walk through the boiling landscape of Namafjall, lose yourself amid the lava pillars of Dimmuborgir, and peer into the caldera of Krafla Volcano. Known as the Capital of the North, Akureyri is the perfect place to warm up and enjoy some creature comforts, before heading off into the wilds again. In Iceland, every side road is a story waiting to unfold. So come, and live your own Icelandic story, it’s one you’ll keep telling for the rest of your days. https://www.expedia.com/Iceland.d79.Destination-Travel-Guides -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Follow us on social media: Twitter: https://twitter.com/Expedia Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/expedia Instagram: http://instagram.com/expedia Pinterest: http://www.pinterest.com/Expedia/ Google+: https://plus.google.com/+Expedia -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Follow us on our travel blog, Viewfinder: http://viewfinder.expedia.com/

Venice Vacation Travel Guide | Expedia

08:48
Rising from the waters of Venice Lagoon is the Italian city of Venice, a city like no other. Begin your visit in the central district of San Marco, and walk upon one of the world’s great squares, St Mark’s Square. The square is surrounded by some of the city’s finest jewels such as St Mark’s Basilica, St Mark’s Campanile and Doge’s Palace. Just outside stand the Columns of San Marco and San Teodoro. From here, journey along one of the world’s great aquatic thoroughfares, The Grand Canal. Glide past elegant palazzos; once the homes of wealthy merchants, today many of these palaces house important museums and galleries. Known as The City Of Bridges, Venice has hundreds to explore. The Accademia Bridge links the San Marco district to the Accademia Gallery, and offers some of the Grand Canal’s finest views. The oldest of the Grand Canal’s four crossings is the Rialto Bridge, which today still serves as the gateway to the Rialto Markets. The most famous of all is the Bridge of Sighs, which connects Doge’s Palace to the historic prison. Venice is a city to get lost in, so put away your map and let her surprise you. Discover waterfront promenades of The Zattere and the sleepy canals and spacious piazzas of Castello. On the tiny island of Murano, glassmakers have been creating works of incredible delicacy and color for over 700 years. Further across the lagoon, the island of Burano is famed for its brightly colored houses and exquisite lace. Venice has shone her light into the far corners of the world for over one and a half thousand years. Just remember, this city smiles upon those who linger. So stay for a few nights, or stay for a month, and savor every moment she has to offer. http://www.expedia.com/Venice.d179981.Destination-Travel-Guides -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Follow us on social media: Twitter: https://twitter.com/Expedia Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/expedia Instagram: http://instagram.com/expedia Pinterest: http://www.pinterest.com/Expedia/ Google+: https://plus.google.com/+Expedia -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Follow us on our travel blog, Viewfinder: http://viewfinder.expedia.com/

Traveling Iran by train | DW Documentary

42:25
Iran is opening its doors to foreigners and a train ride from the Persian Gulf to the Caspian Sea is a great way to get to know the country and its people. The travel restrictions that are now being lifted were in place for decades. Many Iranians are hoping they will now be able to lead a freer life – and we meet many of these hospitable and welcoming people on our journey through the Middle Eastern nation. The country’s most important rail link, the Trans-Iranian Railway, runs for approximately 1400 kilometers from the Persian Gulf via Teheran to the Caspian Sea. The journey starts in Khorramshahr on the Shatt al-Arab, the river border between Iraq and Iran. Traveling past oil fields, the train reaches Shushtar. One of the top sights here is the historic hydraulic system, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After that, the train heads up into the Zagros Mountains. The journey is interrupted by a break for prayer. Breath-taking landscapes move past the train window until we reach the highest point not only of our journey but of the entire rail network: 2,200 meters above sea level between Dorud and Arak. During a brief stop in Qom, travelers can refuel with sohan, a pastry made of wheat germ, flour and sugar. The next section of the track is high-speed and we continue on to Teheran at 160 km/h. The metropolitan area is home to more than 15 million people. The last leg takes us to the north of the country. In the Alborz Mountains, we find out what role the Trans-Iranian Railway played during Stalin’s major offensive against the German army in World War II. Our oriental rail adventure ends in Bandar-e Torkaman on the Caspian Sea. _______ Exciting, powerful and informative – DW Documentary is always close to current affairs and international events. ★ How to Get to Mars. Very Cool! HD

"How To get to Mars" is a clip from the IMAX documentary "Roving Mars" from 2006. This is an edited short version. My photos: https://plus.google.com/u/0/b/105656643463219506384/+aheli DVD - Roving Mars 2006 : Spirit, Opportunity, and the Exploration of the Red Planet @ amazon.com http://www.amazon.com/Roving-Mars-Spirit-Opportunity-Exploration/dp/B003XU7W0A ★ The Largest Stars in the Universe | Infographic Animation ► https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JqAJnrL27OY ★ The Most Astounding Fact - Neil deGrasse Tyson | Kinetic ►Typography https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p2DXqJ7mjKY ★ TOP 10 - Best of Hubble Space Telescope - 2015 ► http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lmx19_0GX8o Game Of Thrones - Theme (OneCamBand Western Cover) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rln_qHoWIqg From Wiki : Spirit, MER-A (Mars Exploration Rover -- A), is a robotic rover on Mars, active from 2004 to 2010. It was one of two rovers of NASA's ongoing Mars Exploration Rover Mission. It landed successfully on Mars at 04:35 Ground UTC on January 4, 2004, three weeks before its twin, Opportunity (MER-B), landed on the other side of the planet. Its name was chosen through a NASA-sponsored student essay competition. The rover became stuck in late 2009, and its last communication with Earth was sent on March 22, 2010. The rover completed its planned 90-sol mission. Aided by cleaning events that resulted in higher power from its solar panels, Spirit went on to function effectively over twenty times longer than NASA planners expected following mission completion. Spirit also logged 7.73 km (4.8 mi) of driving instead of the planned 600 m (0.4 mi), allowing more extensive geological analysis of Martian rocks and planetary surface features. Initial scientific results from the first phase of the mission (the 90-sol prime mission) were published in a special issue of the journal Science. On May 1, 2009 (5 years, 3 months, 27 Earth days after landing; 21.6 times the planned mission duration), Spirit became stuck in soft soil. This was not the first of the mission's "embedding events" and for the following eight months NASA carefully analyzed the situation, running Earth-based theoretical and practical simulations, and finally programming the rover to make extrication drives in an attempt to free itself. These efforts continued until January 26, 2010 when NASA officials announced that the rover was likely irrecoverably obstructed by its location in soft soil, though it continued to perform scientific research from its current location. The rover continued in a stationary science platform role until communication with Spirit stopped on sol 2210 (March 22, 2010). JPL continued to attempt to regain contact until May 24, 2011, when NASA announced that efforts to communicate with the unresponsive rover had ended. A formal farewell was planned at NASA headquarters after the Memorial Day holiday and was televised on NASA TV. Hope you enjoyed it!

My Daily Life In NORTH KOREA (MYSTERIOUS 7 DAY TRIP)

14:36
UPDATE - one year after visiting North Korea I traveled to South Korea and made a video comparing my experiences in both of these two countries. Watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJUSIWSaQX4 I've always been very interested in North Korea because it seemed to be one of the most unique and mysterious countries in the whole world. This is my day to day life throughout the 7 days that I spent in North Korea. You can never be sure whether things were staged or not in North Korea because you are only shown what they want you to see. You can't choose where or when you will be going to specific places, they simply tell you to hop on a bus and ask you to get off at one point or another. That is why I didn't want to offer my opinion about whether things were staged or not, whether they were good or not, or honest or not. My goal was to show you what my day to day life looked like when I was there and let you make up your own mind and judge for yourself. Do not judge North Korea only from what you see in this video. This is what they showed us and there's a reason they show some things and not show the others. Also, knowing how much control they exercise over the population, everything could have been staged only for us. My favorite books about North Korea: Dear Leader by Jang Jin Sung - http://amzn.to/2vEkrrE; Escape From Camp 14 by Blaine Harden - http://amzn.to/2vEz6U1; Nothing To Envy by Barbara Demick - http://amzn.to/2vzieiI; 1984 by George Orwell (I couldn't believe how similar some things in North Korea looked to the ones in the book) - http://amzn.to/2vE92s8. Netherlands Summary Travel Video – Amsterdam, Utrecht, Leiden, Delft, Rotterdam, Haarlem, Holland

08:07
Taking you on a grand journey through the Netherlands, starting with a visit to Haarlem, travelling then down to Leiden, spending three nights in Leiden, doing a few day trips out from there. Then I’ll take you to Delft for three more nights and excursions out from Delft such as to The Hague which is the political capital of the nation. http://tourvideos.com/ And then on to Rotterdam the great modern city of the Netherlands, continuing to Utrecht, a university town with a very large historic center and then down to Maastricht in the southern part of the country. I'll also be going up to the Alkmaar cheese market which is a lot of fun. It happens once a week and it’s a big touristic event. They re-create what it was like in the old days with the cheese market and the guys running around carrying her sleds full of giant Gouda cheeses, but here in the Netherlands they don't say Gouda, it's 'Howda.' I'll take you to that town of Gouda as well and show you where they make the cheese. And then up to Amsterdam for the grand finale. I’m staying two nights or three nights in place, in Amsterdam six nights, so I’ll be providing quite thorough coverage showing you the shopping streets and the museums, the old historic neighborhoods, the old brick buildings and going on some canal boat rides as well – that’s one of the real fun things to do when you’re in the Netherlands. In each of the towns I’ll be walking because these towns are compact and historic and have so many things to see while walking around. And occasionally you can hop on a tram or hop on a bus and that helps you get along. Maybe you want to rent a bicycle. Everybody here is on bicycles. The Netherlands is a land of canals and bicycles and beautifully and preserved old towns such as Delft and Leiden seem like the architecture hasn’t changed in the last 300 years. And it’s really quite a revelation to see how modern everything is at the same time The people of course are highly educated. They have some of the top universities in the world in the Netherlands, and the higher education is all but free for those who are interested. And it’s just a nation of friendly people, smart people, very productive people as well. Fortunately for us, just about all of them speak very good English, so it’s very easy to get by when you are visiting here. I’ll be spending three weeks traveling by train, and the Netherlands has got perhaps the best train system in Europe. Yes maybe even better Switzerland. It’s phenomenal. The trains are clean, fast, frequent. The foods are great. You can have a reasonable lunch for about €12, say the equivalent of no more than $15 – often it’s a good hearty sandwich and a cappuccino or a beer. Of course the Dutch love their beer. And they also drink a lot of wine as well. They don’t produce wine, but being in Europe, in the center of Europe, it is very easy for them to bring in wines from not just France and Italy and Spain but all over the world actually. You see always a good variety on menus, but especially it's the beer. They must have dozens of varieties of beer that are brewed right here in the Netherlands. Now people also call this country Holland and that’s a common mistake actually because Holland is just part of the Netherlands. It's two provinces on the Western side but the country actually the Netherlands. And the people are Dutch, they speak Dutch. It’s a unique language. It’s a separate language but has similarities to German and to Danish. I’m traveling in the in the month of September which is a good time to be here, and I got real lucky with the weather so far, it has been perfect. It’s been let’s say 75°F 20° 22°C, just very comfortable and actually a bit warmer that should be at this time of year and that’s a good thing, sometimes you get lucky. So it’s a real excursion through the Netherlands, not just visiting Amsterdam. Even if you are only going to Amsterdam you should spend 4 to 5 days there so you can do some day trips because the country is pretty small and you can travel all way to the Hague for example by train in about 45 minutes from Amsterdam, so it could be a home base for you. Traveling for three weeks in this wonderful country was a great experience, including all the way down to Maastricht at the southern tip of the Netherlands, and a little side trip over to Aachen in Germany to see the Cathedral dating back to the year 800. You're going to love this upcoming series of movies about the Netherlands. We will focus on Amsterdam, of course. I spent a week in this wonderful city. We will have pictures of the museums, the restaurants, the canals, the streets, the old buildings, Rembrandt's house – and yes it took a lot of walking to get these shots. It was three weeks on foot. The Netherlands presents the visitor with the wonderful variety of sights to see. You're going to love this upcoming series of movies about the Netherlands.
