If you want to license your product idea, an effective sell sheet will open the door and do the talking for you. But what makes a sell sheet good, exactly? How could yours be better? How much detail do you really need to include? If companies aren't calling you back about your idea, you may need to reexamine your marketing materials. In this new series, inventRight cofounders Stephen Key and Andrew are reviewing real-life sell sheets submitted by people licensing their ideas for you to learn from. Want them to review your sell sheet? Email [email protected] Watch their initial request for sell sheets: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bfMkuvGLQwo. Please note: If your sell sheet/marketing materials are chosen to be reviewed in a video, that means your idea will be disclosed to the public. Qualcomm Interview- interview experience, suggestions and tips

03:22
This is an interview of Saurabh Gupta, a student of Electronics and Communication in Delhi Technological University, who was placed at Qualcomm. In this video, he talks about the different rounds involved in the placement interview, and also shares some campus placement tips and suggestions. ABOUT THE COMPANY Qualcomm Incorporated is an American global semiconductor company that designs and markets wireless telecommunications products and services. The company headquarters are located in San Diego, California, United States. The company has 157 worldwide locations. The parent company is Qualcomm Incorporated (Qualcomm), which includes the Qualcomm Technology Licensing Division (QTL). Qualcomm's wholly owned subsidiary, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. (QTI), operates substantially all of Qualcomm's R&D activities, as well as its product and services businesses, including its semiconductor business, Qualcomm CDMA Technologies.  Qualcomm has 5 offices in India, out of which 3 are technical and 2 are marketing based. The technical units are located in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Chennai whereas the marketing units are in Delhi and Mumbai. Saurabh was offered a technical profile, that of an associate engineer at Bangalore. CAMPUS PLACEMENT PROCEDURE The campus placement procedure consists of 3 parts- A written test which is followed by a Placement interview which is both technical, and HR based. Written Test – The written test was divided into 3 sections – an aptitude test, a coding section and a technical section. The aptitude test was not very challenging, and candidates can prepare for it using aptitude books, such as those by Arun Sharma. The coding section included C and C++, for which candidates can use books by Yashwanth Khanelkar or Balaguruswamy for help. Technical Section- The questions were mainly from Analogue electronics, digital electronics and communication systems. In Analogue electronics, the questions were mainly about diodes, transistors and equations relating to them. One advice for aspirants would be to focus on learning the equations well and practicing questions related to them since the questions are objective. For Digital Electronics, candidates can focus on Boolean algebra. As for communications, questions relating to basic filters were also asked. Candidates must be sure of the concepts and apply formulas to the questions given. HR Round- Questions covered several personal areas such as the candidate’s family background, schooling, and why they wanted to join Qualcomm. Placement tips and suggestions here for aspirants would be to prepare for such questions beforehand using the resources available since they can be very helpful in the actual interview. PLACEMENT TIPS AND SUGGESTIONS 1) Be confident of your skills 2) Maintain a decent percentage, since the cut-off for Qualcomm was 70%. 3) Be thorough with your concepts and read them well. 4) Practice questions from other books, but first be clear with the concepts you’re studying. I want to get started off today and I want to reach out to everybody out there and talk about a topic that is not brought up in the questions and that is the emotional state that we all go through as we move through this process. It is, I would say eighty percent emotional twenty percent the nuts and both questions that I get and I know it is not something that somebody's going to post “Hey, and all this and this.” I am having a rough time just calling companies are having a tough time with my family, they are not going to post that and so I want to start off every one of my videos from here on out and start to talk about a little bit of the emotional journey that you all go through and I went through personally I am very emotional person everybody says you have got to have thick skin to be an inventor, because you got a call and got to take rejection I am awful at rejection. I used to take it very personally and used to shut down for two to four weeks at a time I get one no close the door, closed the book and so I want to get started off talk a little bit about rejection and what it means to inventors and what it meant to me as I went through the process and build to a point where I became successful in this business. Rejection, at first meant to me that they did not like me or my ideas, it was very tough I would not call companies I would not do sell sheets, I would just not move my project forward because I got that no. It was very difficult because I was waiting tables. I never heard the words NO because all I did was go get people things and so going out and trying to turn myself into a salesperson where I had the deal through rejection and deal through these hard difficult things that you know it was my idea, it came from me and it was I felt like it personified me and so when it got rejected it was very detrimental to not only my motivation but my emotional state you know, there is “Oh, my God how does this work,” how can I get this thing to work everybody is always rejecting me and as I started to realize that if you change the meaning of what no means you personally because at first that is why I was explaining it meant personal rejection of my who I am and as soon as I change that to, that is one stepping stone on my way to success and that I read you know the movie Rocky, well he went out to hundreds of studios to direct try to get his movie made and kept getting no on different levels they would say yes we take it but we do not want you as an individual to star in the movie, that is another no for him because he had to be in it and so he went through all these no’s and book publishers Chicken Soup for the Soul joke jack canfield he did the same thing no, no, no, and as he built those no’s and what it turned into for me was the more “No’s” I get the more successful I am going to be when I get that “Yes” and it was true. I took on so many “No’s” but I stack those “No’s” on top of each other to make my tower to get up to my mountain. And so you have to change what it means to you when you are going out there calling realized that that “No” is just “No” tool that idea at that moment from that one individual it is their opinion on my Arctic can, I probably got a handful of “No’s” even from big professionals in the industry before cortical company took it on launch that thing and maybe the success that it is and so you have to look at your idea and realize that you have something of value and you got to push it through you got make it happen take those “No’s” turn them into “Yes, fair, how and why” people are saying no and build on that, change your product evolve and you will get your “Yes” to keep climbing that mountain and you will get there.

California's Legal Weed Is So Heavily Taxed and Regulated That the Black Market Might Survive

"The situation in the market is pretty dire," one major cannabis seller told us. ---------------- Subscribe to our YouTube channel: http://youtube.com/reasontv Like us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Reason.Magaz... Follow us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/reason Subscribe to our podcast at iTunes: https://goo.gl/az3a7a Reason is the planet's leading source of news, politics, and culture from a libertarian perspective. Go to reason.com for a point of view you won't get from legacy media and old left-right opinion magazines. ---------------- As of January 2018, anyone over the age of 21 can walk into a store in California and pick up some marijuana. All you need is some cash or a credit card. To learn more about how legalized recreational cannabis sales works, we tracked a product, the Kiva chocolate bar, up the supply chain—from seed to sale. We talked to cannabis entrepreneurs along the way to find out what's changed for them operating in a legal state market. And what we found was surprising: Anxiety about the future of the legal market under California's highly regulated—and highly taxed—system. Some industry insiders told us that if the legal market remains so overtaxed and overregulated that the black market will continue to stay in business. "The situation in the market is pretty dire," says Kristi Knoblich Palmer, COO and co-founder of KIVA, which had to lay off employees for the first time in the company's history after recreational legalization went into effect. "That has everything to do with the cost of cannabis to the end consumer." Produced by Zach Weissmueller. Camera by Alex Manning and Weissmueller.
