Эволюция БМВ 7 - Серии (BMW 7 Series - Design History Evolution Morphing Video)
1977-1986 BMW 7 Series (E23), 1986-1994 BMW 7 Series (E32), 1994-2001 BMW 7 Series (E38), 2001-2008 BMW 7 Series (E65), 2008-2015 BMW 7 Series (F01), 2016 BMW 7 Series (G12) What a better way to see how the BMW 7-Series transformed over the years than a video that morphs through six generations and 38 years of development? After watching the video, you'd be right to say that some of the biggest sticking points are how much BMW's flagship has grown and fattened up and how it lost its sporty (for a car in this segment) edge after Chris Bangle's E65 generation.

How to design a successful logo? How to build a famous brand for your business? Some of the most well-known logos in the world were purposefully designed to indicate something much more than simple beauty. In fact, it seems that in some cases, every line, curve, and color has meaning behind it. Adidas, Apple, BMW, Coca-Cola, Toyota… We see these famous brands everywhere but never consider what their logos exactly mean. Curious to know the secret? Watch the 16 famous logos with a hidden meaning you've never noticed. Hyundai 0:33 The letter ’Н’ symbolizes two people – a client and a representative of the company – shaking hands. Adidas 0:52 The current logo is three stripes at an angle which together form a triangle. This symbolizes a mountain, which in turn represents the challenges that all sportsmen have to overcome day after day. Apple 1:21 Rob Janoff, the designer who came up with the world-famous Apple company logo, explained his idea in one of his interviews. He bought a bag of apples, placed them in a bowl, and spent time drawing them for a week, trying to break the image down into something simple. Vaio 1:58 The first two letters of the Vaio logo symbolize an analogue wave. The last two are similar to the numbers 1 and 0 — that is, symbols of a digital signal. Amazon 2:14 The orange arrow is similar to a smile because the company wants its customers to be satisfied. The arrow is also stretched between the letters ’A’ and ’Z’, in a hint that the company sells absolutely every product you can imagine. Baskin Robbins 2:40 The pink-colored parts of the "BR" section make up the number 31, which is how many ice cream flavors Baskin Robbins used to famously sell. Toyota 2:56 The logo represents a stylized image of a needle eye with a thread passing through it. This is a hint at the company’s past – they used to produce weaving machines. Continental 3:28 Continental, a famous car tire producer, has a logo in which the first two letters depict a car wheel. Formula 1 3:41 If you look carefully at the white space between the letter ’F’ and the red stripes, you can see the number 1. Pinterest 3:59 On Pinterest, people collect images they like from across the Internet and ’pin’ them to their online boards. That’s why the image of a pin is hidden in the letter P. Beats 4:17 Beats, an audio equipment producer based in the USA, uses a logo in which the letter ’B’ looks like headphones on a person’s head. Toblerone 4:32 The famous chocolate company based in Bern, Switzerland, has a silhouette of a bear in its logo. That's because Bern is sometimes called a city of bears. BMW 4:55 The logo is simply a part of the Bavarian flag, the area of Germany where the company originated. LG 5:18 The logo is a stylized image of a person’s face. According to the company, this represents its aspiration to have human relations with their customers. Evernote 5:34 The corner of the elephant’s ear is folded over in a similar way how people fold the corner of a page to make notes. Coca-Cola 5:57 In the space between the letters ’O’ and ’L’, you can see the Danish flag. It’s purely a coincidence. Nevertheless, Coca-Cola has used this as part of its marketing campaigns in the Scandinavian country. If you’ve enjoyed this video, hit that thumbs up button! Braun Design
"The strength of Pure" http://www.braun.com/uk/world-of-braun/braun-design.html The overarching theme of the Braun brand today, "The strength of pure," is rooted in over half a century of modern design. Starting in 1955, the Braun brothers, Fritz Eichler and Dieter Rams pioneered a new direction, and the resulting products introduced "good design" into our everyday lives. Certainly Braun products have evolved over the decades in appearance and technology, but the brand's core values of functionality, quality and aesthetics are as relevant today as they were 55 years ago, when Braun design was born.

Annica and Marie Eklund transform Swedish flooring company into global design brand
In the first movie in our Bolon at Heart video series, Annica and Marie Eklund explain how they transformed their grandfather's rug company into a glamorous design brand. Led by sisters Annica and Marie Eklund since 2003, Bolon is famous for its woven vinyl flooring, which has been used around the globe by some of the world's leading architects and designers. However, the company's origins are much more humble. It was founded in Stockholm by Annica and Marie's grandfather Nils-Erik Eklund in 1949, who made rag rugs from fabric offcuts. "The story of Bolon started with our grandfather passing a factory everyday," explains Annica Eklund in the movie, which Dezeen filmed at Bolon's headquarters in Ulricehamn, Sweden. "He saw this huge amount of leftover textile and really saw the potential of re-using it. He produced rugs for residential use made of cotton and nylon." Annica and Marie's parents Monica and Lars Eklund took over the company in 1967 and built up Bolon's reputation as a producer of caravan awning mats throughout the 1970s and 80s. "We did a lot of camping [as a family], and our father has always been a kind of inventor," Annica says. "He was missing a product to use in the camping lifestyle." Bolon started manufacturing wall-to-wall woven vinyl flooring in 1993. Ten years later, Annica and Marie took over the company as managing director and creative director respectively. Annica is a former showjumper for Sweden's national team, while Marie modelled in Italy during her studies at Florence's Accademia Moda. When they joined the family business, both sisters knew they wanted to take the company in a new direction. "Our passion has always been about fashion, design and interiors," Marie Eklund says. "So we had to develop the company in this direction and add something completely new." Graphic Design Pioneer—Alexander Rodchenko Russian Constructivist
Before designers like Shepard Fairey started his ubiquitous Andre The Giant has a posse and the "OBEY" phenomenon, Russian artist and graphic designer Alexander Rodchenko was blazing a trail and forging a path forward for contemporary graphic design. To say that he and other Russian Constructivist "influenced" contemporary design would be an understatement. Ben wanted to learn more about Art History, so Chris gave him a homework assignment on Alexander Rodchenko. His work continues to inspire logos, posters and other design works today. Whose work inspires you? -- 0:46 Alexander Rodchenko: 1891-1956 1:19 Dance. An Objectless Composition - 1915 1:47 Construction No. 127 1920 2:08 Pure Red Color, Pure Yellow Color, Pure Blue Color (The End Of Painting 1921) 2:34 Alexander embraced the idea that artists and designers as engineers over asthetes (people who value asthetics) 3:13 Rodchenko is known as a father of constructivism (Spatial construction No. 12 - 1920) 4:57 Switch from fine art into design/purpose (Better Pacifiers 1923) 6:56 In the 1920's Rodchenko delved into politics (Books 1924) 8:11 Originality - Everything comes from something. 8:35 It's hard to pull off symmetrical layouts and make them look fresh and modern. 10:09 Strive to create design that is timeless, and is rooted in solid design fundamentals. 13:40 In the 1930's Rodchenko's design work became outlawed, so he shifted his focus to photography 15:24 A lot of our visual vocabulary is borrowed from the past. 16:18 Let go of trying to be original, and focus on being good. — We need your support today! Vornado Logo Design, Brand Identity and Brand Packaging
We developed Vornado's Brand Promise, a new strategic brand identity and retail packaging identity that changed Vornado's future. The solution came in radical simplicity and a revolutionary anti-branding information architecture. We even re-named all of Vornado's products the same name for each product category and developed a new universal tagline for each product category. Crazy simple. Insanely simple. All the air circulator products are now called 'Whole Room Air Circulator" which is the brands "unique relevant benefit". This also allowed us to position Vornado as the original--leaving the competition to imitator status. Plus, we made the package design communication ultra clear by fully explaining what an air circulator is and what it means relative to a fan with the tagline, The tagline reads, "The fan that circulates all the air." Now Vornado's brand and brand packaging is differentiated from competitors and clearly positions Vornado as the definitive category leader and innovator. It's so simple and so clear it dominates the retail shelf. Until this new brand packaging Vornado failed for years to gain space on Target's lucrative retail shelves. With this new packaging, they not only got on the shelves but, according to Mark Zarich Director of Sales at Vornado the buyer actually said, "The packaging was the best in category." The brand packaging is selling so well Vornado has doubled their SKU's. The package is built as a sequential graphic design structure with each panel leading to the other building one concept on the previous. The graphic blue strip on the front right edge with the cut out arrow encourages turning the package to the blue panel which explains how Vornado circulates all the air. The graphic green strip with the cut out arrow on the blue panel encourages turning the package to the green panel which explains how whole room air circulation saves energy and money and makes a room more comfortable. The graphic black strip with the cut out arrow on the green panel encourages turning the package to the black panel which list benefits. The front panel states and explains Vornado's "unique relevant benefit" while all the other panels support that assertion. It was all developed out of the 'Brand Promise" and that's what we mean when we say strategic graphic design. What we developed with and for Vornado was, "Intelligent. Superior engineering. Innovation". From this we created the new brand packaging identity which Target said was the best packaging in the category and it got Vornado on Target shelves for the first time in their long history. Relatively the same products just different brand strategy and packaging. We didn't just say they were "Intelligent. Superior engineering. Innovation" but we designed an intelligent and innovative package and branding that showed superior engineering. The contextual approach, brand strategy, logo and graphic design embody the brand promise. Insight Design Communications is a breakthrough brand design studio with extensive experience in brand packaging. Client: Vornado. Work: Logo Design, Brand Promise, Brand Strategy and Architecture, Brand Guide or Corporate Identity Brand Manual, Brand Packaging for all categories; Wholeroom Air Circulator, Wholeroom Heaters, Wholeroom Humidifiers, Wholeroom Personal Air Circulators or Fans and Wholeroom Air Purifiers. Brand Product Brochure and Brand Story Brochure and Vornado Trade Show Graphic Design. This logo design and brand identity will be visible throughout the United States and in cities like Kansas City, Kansas, Wichita, Kansas, Dallas, Texas, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Denver, Colorado, New York, New York, Los Angeles, California, and Europe and Asia.

ThinkPad: IBM vs. Lenovo design
IBM produced ThinkPads from 1992 to 2005, with Lenovo taking over thereafter. Is there really a difference between ThinkPads designed and built by IBM vs. Lenovo? Obviously newer models have better technology inside, but what about feel, looks, fit/finish and the overall design philosophy? I compare an IBM ThinkPad 600X and a Lenovo ThinkPad P50 in this video.
