Oh boy. This should be fun.
I do this every now and then. I start feeling fat? NO CARBS FOR A MONTH! Too much coffee? NO COFFEE FOR A MONTH! Too much sugar? NO SUGAR FOR A MONTH!
But I've never ever ever even considered doing it around sex and porn. Ever. Until Now.
Here's what happened:
I was finding myself having sex with people I didn't want to be having sex with, going on dates with people I didn't want to be going on dates with, and tindering up a storm with no intent of even going on dates. And let's not forget pornography. I was definitely using porn to perk myself up (if you will) when I was feeling down.
So what does Shaun do? CUT IT ALL OUT! Because I'm extreme like that. ***
My goal is to examine my relationship to sex, dating, and porn. What do I reach for when I feel uncomfortable? Dating app? Porn? Little Black Book of past hookups? Craigslist?!!?
For the next 90 days, I can reach all I want, but there's nothing to hold onto. I'll have to find other ways to distract myself. Exercise? Dog Walks? Cleaning the garage?
I'll probably find myself with extra time on my hands, which I'll devote to friends, family, dogs, house, and to prepare for my big big upcoming trip. I'll also be putting out more content for you all so stay tuned for more info.
*** My friend wisely suggested that I give myself three 24hr hall passes to do whatever I want with. I'm into it. I can go on a Hawaiian sex cruise, binge on porn for 24 hours, fuck that hot couple I meet at the club, or go on a date with someone I REALLY want to go on a date with.
