Before that, they were one of the greatest hunters feared by numerous species. - A group of kittens is often called a kindle; a group of adult cats is called a clowder. A female cat is referred to as a queen, and a male cat is known as a tom. - Cats only meow at humans. With other animals, they hiss, spit, and purr — but never meow. They also tend to greet each other by touching noses. - The problem of acne is pretty common among cats. They usually end up developing blackheads on their chins, which is widely known as feline acne. - Most cats tend to spend about two-thirds of their day sleeping. So the average 9-year-old cat has been fully awake for only 3 years of its life! Cats also spend about one-third of their waking hours cleaning themselves up. - One of the reasons why cats clean themselves so often is to lick your scent off! When your cat rubs against you from nose to tail, it wants to mark you as its own. - Cats have rather sensitive stomachs, so you should be very careful about your furry friend's menu. Never give your cat onion, garlic, green tomatoes, chocolate, grapes, or raisins. - Your cat always understands when you say its name…it just chooses to ignore you! Specialists believe this happens because, historically, cats haven't been domesticated to listen to people's orders — unlike dogs. - A cat's whiskers aren't there to make them extra cute! They’re covered in numerous nerve cells and blood vessels. - Cats have a special reflective layer in their eyes called the tapetum lucidum. This layer easily magnifies incoming light and allows cats to see around 6 times better than we do in the dark and low light. - A cat's heart beats way faster than ours with about 110 to 140 beats every single minute. - A cat's cerebral cortex contains 300 million neurons. Just for comparison, dogs have only around 160 million. - It's a natural instinct for a kitten to cover its poop. If your cat doesn't do that, this is its way of showing you who's the true head of the house. - Back in 2007, a calico cat named Tama became a station master and greeted passengers at Kishi Station. - Cats can easily jump about 6 times their own length! This is all thanks to the powerful muscles in their back legs, which allow them to jump onto any surface they like. - Biologically, a cat's brain is kinda similar to ours. We have almost identical brain regions that take care of our emotions, so there's a chance that you and your furry friend feel the same way sometimes. - In the cat world, the concept of left- or right-handedness is a thing too! Most cats are actually left-pawed! How to understand your cat? 🐱 How to make friends with your cat? 😍 Everyone knows that cats are the most illogical and unpredictable pets. Just try to work out what’s going through that furry little head! It turns out that cats have their own language, and if you learn it there’s a chance you’ll understand them much better. We’ve put together all of the possible cat behaviors to help you find a common language with your pet (well, if it allows you to). Also, we’ve prepared three essential tips that will help you communicate with cats better. HOW TO COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR CAT • How to make your cat trust you Lowering your cat to the ground, make sure its paws have reached the floor. Your cat will trust you and know that it won’t tumble if you let it go. • How to stroke your cat If you sit on the floor with your legs crossed and look at your cat, it will interpret this as a friendly gesture and come up to you to let you stroke it. Also, stretch your hand out in its direction. Your middle finger should be a little lower than the others. The cat will start rubbing its nose or face against your hand. • How to make your cat appear A cat may go and hide and only appear when it’s alone or hears a calm voice. #understandcat #catbehavior #pet TIMESTAMPS Cat's tail 0:52 Cat's eyes 3:47 Cat's interaction with people 4:38 Cat gestures 6:14 Cat language 6:57 How to communicate with your cat better 8:09 MAIN CAT GESTURES • If a cat raises its nose up and throws its head, it’s saying, “I see you.” Cats often make this gesture to people walking past the window. Have you ever noticed it? • A cat might press its ears against its head if it feels scared, worried, or wants to play. They also do this when they are sniffing something that’s interested them. • When a cat sticks its tongue out slightly and licks itself, it’s worried or anxious. CAT LANGUAGE • Cats generally greet people or announce their presence with a short sound. • Lengthy meowing indicates that your cat is very glad to see you. This occurs if you’re away from home for a long time. • A medium-length meow might be a request for water or food. • A long sound (a mix of purring and meowing) is a more insistent request or demand. • A low meow is a complaint or indication of dissatisfaction. Also, it might mean your cat is ready to fight. • A loud sound often indicates an urgent demand (for instance, you cat needs more food). • A purring or vibrating sound indicates a desire for closer contact or attention. Cats purr for various reasons, but most often they do it when they are happy. Now you know how to find a common language with any cat. By the way, are you a cat person or a dog person? 20 Strange Cat Behaviors Explained!
Weirdest cat behaviors explained! These are the top strange cat behaviors and how to understand cats and weird cat behaviors explained! Check out our online store for Tempt channel merchandise! https://teespring.com/stores/tempt-youtube-channel 18. Random sprint - Does your cat run at a super fast speed and bounce off the couch out of nowhere? Don’t worry this is totally normal; cats can run up to 31 miles per hour, they're just getting their exercise in for the day! Most house cats have an extreme amount of energy that gets pent up and needs to be released. If they don’t get regular exercise on their own, they might need some more playful attention to avoid random sprints around the house. 17. Unladylike sitting - Why do people sit in unladylike positions? Well because it’s comfortable of course. Same goes for cats; when they are sprawled out with their legs open, that means they’re simply relaxed, trusting you, and happy. This means they know they are safe so they can relax. 16. Brings you presents- A dead rodent or bug at your feet might not be what you always wanted, but there are lots of theories about why your cat insists on doing this. As a kitten their mother might have brought them back a dead prey, so that’s where they got it from. Paying them more attention when they do this might be encouraging this behavior. Maybe they're being generous and saying thank you for feeding her or maybe sharing a successful hunt with you. This is them sharing what they caught with you as if you were a part of its real cat family. When cats are able to get more food than they need to eat, they might bring back extra kills to other members of the colony, especially kittens and nursing mothers. So your cat might just think you could use some help having enough to eat. Although this is a gross habit from a human’s perspective, don’t punish your cat for doing something that is only natural to them, because they don’t know any better. Instead try keeping them indoors, or put a bell on their collar to make it more difficult for them to catch prey.

Interesting facts about Cats | Educational Video for Kids.
Did you know that the cat’s whiskers have special powers? In fact whiskers are not hairs but nerve endings. And with these they detect many different things …they are almost like a radar. Cats use them, as well as their smell and sight, to identify odors or to calculate the exact location of an object or prey…such as this poor mouse. And did you know that cats that have three or four colors are females? So when you see a cat which has three or four different colors in their fur, it most likely will be a girl cat. There have been extreme cases of three fur colored male cats but these have been sterile meaning that they can not have babies. Cats can have a litter of three to seven kittens every four months and in a life time they can have up to 100 kittens, that's incredible! Did you know cats are one of the cleanest animals in the world? They dedicate a great deal of their time cleaning themselves. As soon as they finish eating they begin a lengthy cleaning proses. It is a survival instinct so their predators, such as dogs, don't smell them and therefore don’t attack them. They also like to burry their fesses and this way they are avoiding being discovered and captured by other animals. Though many people don't like cats we do love pussycats.

Cats 101: Persian Cats Fun Interesting Facts Most Popular Cat Breed - Animal Facts
Most Popular Cat Breeds Persian Cats 101 Fun Interesting Facts #persiancat GET ANIMAL FACTS notifications in your Facebook Messenger Inbox - https://manychat.com/l2/animalfactsus From Wikipedia: The Persian cat (Persian: گربه ایرانی Gorbe Irâni) is a long-haired breed of cat characterized by its round face and short muzzle. It is also known as the Persian Longhair. In Middle East they are widely known as Iranian cat and in Iran they are known as Shirazi cat.The first documented ancestors of the Persian were imported into Italy from Iran (Persia) around 1620.[1] Recognized by the cat fancy since the late 19th century, it was developed first by the English, and then mainly by American breeders after the Second World War. Some cat fancier organizations' breed standards subsume the Himalayan and Exotic Shorthair as variants of this breed, while others treat them as separate breeds. The selective breeding carried out by breeders has allowed the development of a wide variety of coat colors, but has also led to the creation of increasingly flat-faced Persians. Favored by fanciers, this head structure can bring with it a number of health problems. As is the case with the Siamese breed, there have been efforts by some breeders to preserve the older type of cat, the traditional breed, having a more pronounced muzzle, which is more popular with the general public. Hereditary polycystic kidney disease is prevalent in the breed, affecting almost half the population in some countries.[2][3] In 2015 it was ranked as the 2nd most popular breed in the United States according to the Cat Fanciers' Association.[4] The first is the Exotic breed. It is not clear when longhaired cats first appeared, as there are no known long-haired specimens of the African wildcat, the ancestor of the domestic subspecies. The first documented ancestors of the Persian were imported from Khorasan, Iran, into Italy in 1620 by Pietro della Valle, and from Angora (now Ankara), Turkey, into France by Nicholas-Claude Fabri de Peiresc at around the same time. The Khorasan cats were grey coated while those from Angora were white. From France, they soon reached Britain.[5][self-published source] Recent genetic research indicates that present day Persians are related not to cats from the Near East but to cats from Western Europe. The researchers stated, "Even though the early Persian cat may have in fact originated from Persia (Iran), the modern Persian cat has lost its phylogeographical signature."[6] Website: http://www.animalfacts.us Social Media Links: Facebook: http://bit.ly/2j3sKbX Twitter: http://bit.ly/2kbln45 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/dicksonleroy/ Google+: http://bit.ly/2jHJLcp Patreon: http://bit.ly/2jh2A2Y

A tabby is any domestic cat that has a coat featuring distinctive stripes, dots, lines or swirling patterns, usually together with a mark resembling an 'M' on its forehead. Tabbies are sometimes erroneously assumed to be a cat breed.[1] In fact, the tabby pattern is found in many breeds, as well as among the general mixed-breed population. The tabby pattern is a naturally occurring feature that may be related to the coloration of the domestic cat's direct ancestor, the African wildcat (Felis lybica lybica), which — along with the European wildcat (Felis silvestris silvestris) and Asiatic wildcat (Felis lybica ornata) — has a similar coloration.

Cats 101: Bengal Cats - Top 10 Facts - Facts and Information - Animal Facts
Bengal Cats 101 Facts and Information - Animal Facts The Bengal is a domestic cat breed developed to look like exotic jungle cats such as leopards, ocelots, margays and clouded leopards. Bengal cats were developed by selective breeding from hybrids of the Asian leopard cat (ALC), Prionailurus bengalensis bengalensis, with domestic cat, backcrossed to domestic cats, with the goal of creating a confident, healthy, and friendly cat with a highly contrasted and vividly marked coat. The name "Bengal cat" was derived from the taxonomic name of the Asian leopard cat (P. b. bengalensis). They have a "wild" appearance with large spots/rosettes/arrowheads, and a light/white belly, and a body structure reminiscent of the ALC.[Once separated by at least four generations from the original ALC × domestic cat crossing, the breed's temperament resembles that of a domestic cat. Bengal cats are generally a bright orange to light brown color, although pale or off-white "snow" Bengals also exist, and are popular among owners. In real life, these blue-eyed beauties are well-known for their streamlined bodies, creamy beige coats and distinctive markings as well as being quite lovable and sweet. Hi, Welcome to Animal Facts. Today, if you please, we examine ten facts about the sleek feline companion, the Siamese. From Wikipedia: The Siamese cat is one of the first distinctly recognized breeds of Asian cat. Derived from the Wichianmat landrace, one of the several varieties of cat native to Thailand (formerly known as Siam), the Siamese became one of the most popular breeds in Europe and North America in the 19th century. The carefully refined modern Siamese is characterized by blue almond-shaped eyes, a triangular head shape, large ears, an elongated, slender, and muscular body, and point colouration. (Aside from the colouration, it bears little resemblance to the original stock, and the more moderate, traditional or "old-style" Siamese, with a much rounder head and body, has been re-established by multiple registries as the Thai cat.) The International Cat Association describes the modern Siamese as social, intelligent, and playful into adulthood, often enjoying a game of fetch.[1] Siamese tend to seek human interaction and also like companionship from other cats. The Siamese (sometimes in the traditional form) is the foundation stock of several other breeds developed by crossbreeding with other cats; some examples are the Oriental Shorthair and Colourpoint Shorthair, developed to expand the range of coat patterns; the long-haired variant most often dubbed the Himalayan; and hair-mutation breeds including the Cornish Rex, Sphynx, and Peterbald. The Siamese cat comes in two distinct variations: traditional, with an apple-shaped head and a slightly chubby body; or the modern Siamese, which are skinny and have a large head, and are the more stereotypical and iconic when one thinks about the Siamese.
