Introduction to the LiveBindings Designer

07:33
LiveBindings for VCL and FireMonkey Delphi and C++ applications were introduced in RAD Studio XE2. In RAD Studio XE3, we've dramatically improved the productivity in building and the quality of using LiveBindings with the new LiveBindings Designer, LiveBindings Wizard and TPrototypeBindSource. The LiveBindings Designer let you visually create and edit LiveBindings. The LiveBindings Wizard takes you through the steps to create new LiveBindings expressions and create connections between existing and new components. The TPrototypeBindSource provides a data source for generating sample data that you can use to get started when you do not already have data to start with. Later you can replace this data source with some real data.

RAD Studio 10 Seattle - Android Services

01:51
Learn More: http://embt.co/18NRqXF Try RAD Studio for Free: http://embt.co/XTrc76 New in Delphi and RAD Studio 10 Seattle is support for Android background services in the IDE. This includes wizards for creating Android Services and the ability to easily add them to your existing Delphi Android applications. Select the Android Service Delphi project in the IDE to get started and choose from local and remote service options with support for asynchronous tasks using intents. Local services are only used by the host app, while remote services are accessible from other applications as well. The Android Service project consists of a Data Module to create the methods and events for the service. For example, you can use Start Sticky to create an Android background service that will automatically restart if it is terminated. Building the Android service project creates the binary files that the main application needs. After you have built the Android service, you can easily add it to your host application using the built-in IDE support. Once deployed to your Android device, your host application can start the service to continue processing in the background, even if the application is dismissed. In app Settings, you can see the running host app and any background services it has running. With the built-in support for Android Services in your Delphi 10 Seattle applications, you can add any number of services to your Android application. What makes Android services great is that they can continue to run even when your application is not running. Adding Android services to your application is very useful for collecting beacon data or when talking to IoT devices such heart rate monitors, fitness trackers and more.

Embarcadero - Inspire. Develop. Excel.

03:02
We are extremely proud of the community support that we receive and the creative ideas that this generates. In fact, the 10.1 Berlin launch introduces some themes that will be pillars to our customer outreach strategy this year that came from you. These themes are best described by three words: Inspire. Develop. Excel. Inspire young developers across the globe. Delphi is not only a great language to develop applications, but it is the best to learn and to appreciate programming. We owe educators and developers to support Delphi’s popularity and we will continue to further the evangelization of such a great product. The connection that this base provides to C++ and other languages (even Java) will strengthen our role in the overall developer ecosystem. Develop amazing applications used by millions. Indeed so many applications are built with our tools, and we continue to be delighted every day to find old and new examples. We need to proactively share this information with developers to reinforce the confidence in our technology and tools. Excel in building incredible products. At the end, it is all about the product and the value that we bring to our customers. We have a strong vision, commitment, and a great team to deliver on that promise. We also have the ingredients and our releases are a testament to the results that we deliver. 2016 should be another great year of product releases with increased focus on updates to make upgrades far easier.

Enterprise Mobility Services for Delphi XE8

02:16
Delphi XE8 The Fastest Connected App Platform for Windows and Beyond http://www.embarcadero.com/products/delphi Enterprise Mobility Services is a turnkey solution for today’s interconnected, distributed apps, offering an easy to deploy middleware server that hosts loadable custom API and data access modules. Simply create an EMS package using either Object Pascal or C++, register a specific resource (with a matching URI location), and write code to handle the corresponding requests. It’s based on open and standard technologies, including REST HTTP calls and JSON data formats, and provides major SQL database drivers along with an encrypted embedded and server SQL database. EMS is a middleware solution that is stateless, restful, scalable, and secure. With EMS you can use the included InterBase database or select any other supported Enterprise SQL database. Easily manage custom APIs exposed through standard REST JSON interfaces. Accessing those APIs is incredibly easy with wizards, ready-to-use components and the new management console, making the development process extremely smooth and well integrated. EMS automatically provides real-time analytics to track your users’ activity and the REST APIs they are calling. The new Push Notifications server support for iOS and Android allows developers to deliver event driven notifications to the end user's device through EMS. XE8 also includes support for native HTTP and HTTPS client libraries on Windows, Mac, iOS and Android. Navigate the users and group lists to view the online daily activity and history. View overall REST API usage at the yearly, monthly, and daily level, and drill down on individual REST resources, including individual REST API calls.
